However, the glue had to be treated with a Goo-Gone product to successfully remove the sticky from the wood handle. This was a minor issue. (See photo)Our major issue can be seen in the other 2 photos where the steel spade is fastened to the handle. As shown, the cap of the tool portion had been struck hard with what is obviously and likely another metal object. This could NOT have happened in shipment because the box shows no signs of damage. Surprisingly, this means the tool was shipped that way by Amazon. We must note, this tool was the very last of this item in stock when we placed the order. Perhaps it was set aside for the very last order to fill and we are that unfortunate customer. Of course, we have no idea just how this damage will affect it’s performance or especially it’s durability. Whoever came up with this should be fired. Packaging gone wild.
