The Night Hunter

This is the best murder mystery/case solving game I've played. The props were unique, and it was a good challenge. I did this with my 12 y/o sister and she loved it! The use of the UV light and keycards was a unique aspect that I haven't seen before. It is also great for the price, and a good activity for friends/family!

Wow. This case was a super fun challenge. It comes in multiple parts. We did half last night and the second half tonight. The game is full of cool evidence including detailed evidences, puzzles, and a black light to reveal fingerprints and other hidden information. The online hints were great and they helped confirm some of our suspicions to keep us on track. Lots of twists and turns and a great story. For a great night in, get a pizza and unpack the Night Hunter!

I bought this game after playing Death at the Dive Bar from a different company. This game has a lot more evidence and smaller challenges to accomplish step by step in order to determine the killer. We played casually for about an hour and half and only solved the first of the four challenges. The story is interesting and it was fun to play. We are looking forward to finding the killer over the next couple hangout nights!

I saw one of these in a store and was interested in it. I found it much cheaper on Amazon. I did a little research and found that it’s best to only have two or three players. This was perfect for my wife and I to finish by ourselves. It took us two nights to do it, but some of it had to do with just figuring out how the game was played. I really liked the online portion of the game. If you like murder mysteries, this is a good one.

I really enjoyed solving this mystery with my partner. We’ve previously done 4-5 similar murder mystery games, but this one was my favorite. Unlike other games that have endless pages to read, this one struck a good balance. There was reading involved, but it wasn’t overwhelming. We completed it over a long weekend, and it took about 4-5 hours. What I loved most was the number of small puzzles we had to solve. it wasn’t just a single challenge. Although we weren’t as thrilled with the final puzzle, the overall experience was fantastic. I recommend this game for a fun game night.

Bought this game with no expectations and as a first time player of mystery murder party games; I love it. My cousins and I took 2 days to finish it, only because we spaced out each section but I thought the set up and story line was pretty interesting.

This is way better than competing games. Please make more of these, especially like this one that can be done with 1 or 2 people and not the large group party games! There are too many of those. Pros: amazing format, great that you can do a chapter at a time & spread out over multiple nights, outstanding evidence and the amount of materials, and great creative detail. Also love the 80’s vibes. Cons: abrupt ending (please consider adding consequences & wrap-up on what happens after you solved it); our blacklight also strobes making it very hard to read with but hopefully that’s a one-off; not super clear that we were allowed to use our phones to look stuff up but one of the clues in particular could not be solved unless we used a Latin dictionary, which was super cool but we weren’t sure if that was cheating. Overall this was awesome. Especially love that it didn’t start out with a list of suspects like so many of the other games. That format is so tired and it does half the work for you. It’s so much more fun to track things down like it was in this game. I hope there will be more!

MAKE SURE TO USE QR CODE AS THERE IS MORE INFO (BESIDES HINTS AND SOLUTIONS) NECESSARY FOR SOLVING CHAPTER OBJECTIVES! They do not specify difficulty (afaik) but I would say it is intermediate. Nothing excruciatingly hard. I am very surprised at how much content there is for 20$. Other companies I have tried, are like 5-10 bucks more or same price, but have significantly less. Game comes in a nice box, components are well made, and there are some unique approaches to solving mystery, that I have not seen before. It was really fun. The game also had proper organization with the help of case separation into objective chapters. It was very thoughtful to make “solutions” on the website have multiple choices, and not directly bump you with the right answer. The website is awesome! It is clearly a game that could be played only once, but you can always resell it or pass it on to a friend.

Das 431. Krimi-/Escapespiel, das wir gespielt haben, davon das 95. Spiel vom Typ "Fallakte". "Murder mystery party the night hunter game": Ein Fallakten-Spiel aus den USA, natürlich auf Englisch, das uns von den Socken gehauen hat, um schonmal so viel vorweg zu nehmen... Enthalten ist nicht nur ein ungelöster Mordfall, sondern auch noch 4 weitere, alte Fälle, und ein Ziel, das es zu schützen gilt. Alles mit einander verbunden. Aufgebaut ist das Spiel dabei in 4 Kapitel, die jeweils nochmal in 3 Unterkapitel unterteilt sind, bei denen es jeweils eine Frage zu klären gilt, woraufhin man dann den nächsten Umschlag öffnen darf und der nächsten Frage nachgehen soll (bspw. nach Frage 1.1 den nächsten Umschlag öffnen und Frage 1.2 beantworten, ... Mit der Antwort zu 1.3 beendet man dann Kapitel 1). Nach den Kapiteln kann man jeweils eine Pause einlegen, oder man spielt am Stück. Der Aufbau ist entsprechend eher angeleitet, was für uns aber sehr gut passte, weil es ja auch immer nochmal eine andere Schwierigkeit hat, so ein Spiel auf Englisch statt Deutsch zu spielen. Ob es wirklich 100 Beweismittel sind haben wir nicht durchgezählt, aber es war wirklich eine positiv überraschende Menge. Dabei bestanden die Unterlagen nicht nur aus Papier und Fotos sondern darüber hinaus auch aus einem richtig coolen kleinen Heft mit verschiedensten Bissspuren, Chemischen Substanzen und mehr, verschiedenen (Transparent)Karten, einer kleinen UV-Lampe für die versteckten Informationen in UV-Schrift, und anderem. Vergleichbar mit "Hunt a killer Moon summit mystery", während sich die Story von Stil her in der Richtung von "Unsolved crimes" (Adventskalendermörder, Podcastmörder) bewegt, also düsterer als bei den meisten anderen Fallakten - und das lieben wir! Die Story ist durchgängig stringent, spannend aufgebaut und hat uns an der ein oder anderen Stelle damit rückblickend überraschen können. Wirkt sehr ausgeklügelt. Wir haben insgesamt 4 h gespielt (Kapitel 1: 1:30 h, Kapitel 2: 1:35 h, Kapitel 3: 35 min, Kapitel 4: 25 min) und sind wirklich begeistert. Das Ende klingt als dürfe man auf weitere Fälle hoffen und die holen wir uns dann liebend gerne!

We do quite a few murder mystery / escape room type games. This one had lots to it and kept us entertained for longer than any of the others we have attempted. Had a mix of easy and more difficult puzzles. The evidence, resources and paperwork was of a high quality; although, the torch did stop working, near the end. Highly recommend.

The best thing is the storyline! The Night Hunter Game includes so much ' realistic ' evidence to work through, creating hours and hours of fun. The evidence is challenging and interesting, all built around a really great storyline.

It made a fantastic Christmas presents, our friends were very happy! Fun game, not too difficult, enjoyable!
