typecase Keyboard Case for iPad 13" & 12.9", Trackpad, 360° Rotating

I will admit that the case was heavier than I thought it was going to be, but it seems to be very sturdy and does what I need it to do. The touch pad is pretty sensitive as well. All-in-all a pretty good case and worth the cost!

Update! I am super impressed with the customer service. I was contacted immediately after writing the review below and they took care of me, sent me a new one just a couple of days later and it just arrived today. It works great and I am thrilled with the customer service. If only every product had such great customer care. Changing my review to five stars. Thank you! Pretty good case. I ordered it months ago and just started using it this week. The problem is that right out of the box the N key only works if you basically pound your finger on it. It’s really frustrating and I missed the window to return it so I guess I have to keep pounding on the keyboard and hope it fixes itself . Not cool. I do like the lighted keyboard and the pencil holder on top.

Excellent product, except I have to agree with complaints about the weight it added to the iPad. Although I won’t ding it any stars for the weight because I knew what I was getting into when I purchased. None of these keyboard cases are “lightweight” to be honest and add weight to the iPad. Yes, you can spend nearly $400 and get the Apple product and save SOME weight, but it is added weight nonetheless. With that said, the only lag I have found (which seems to be a complaint) is when the keyboard goes into sleep mode if left turned on. And yes, it makes it a little difficult to “find” the cursor, and get it moving, when using the trackpad to “wake” the keyboard up, that is super minor if you realize that it takes time for it to wake up and re-establish the Bluetooth connection. Again, it is not the $400 Apple keyboard that doesn’t use Bluetooth and never goes to “sleep” because it is hardware connected and uses the iPad battery for its power. The keys of the Type Case are well spaced for a guy with big mitts and are above average for their tactile feedback compared to others I’ve used on previous versions of iPads I have owned. Love the backlit keyboard colors and use the rotating color scheme on mine; although some colors are better than others at seeing the keys in low light situations. The Apple Pencil charging location is nice and protects the pencil from being knocked off the iPad. And I utilize the soft pencil holder for when the pencil is fully charged and I’m not using it; like when watching a movie or checking out YouTube videos. I cannot speak to the case’s protection capabilities because I haven’t dropped it and work hard to make sure I don’t because the case doesn’t appear to be capable of withstanding any kind of real fall, but I’m basing that on appearances only. Overall well worth the money and would purchase again if needed. I’ve used this product now for a little over a month and if there is any complaint, it is how stiff the hinge is when trying to open/close the keyboard, but if it wasn’t stiff, it probably wouldn’t hold up the iPad in various positions.

This case is wonderful and a good value. I love the backlit keyboard and it holds a charge for a very long time. The swivel allows me to move the iPad any way I need to and it provides solid protection. There's a place that holds the apple pencil for charging or just safekeeping. The keyboard types easily and isn't too loud. In addition, it protects it well from drops. Please note that I've only dropped it a few feet and its done well. I'm not sure if it would protect it from a high fall.

This case is very heavy, easily scratched, and not very responsive (bluetooth). I purchased this case because I wanted to be able to lay the ipad screen down over the keyboard when the keyboard is not needed. The screen shakes in the case when you are typing which is extremely disconcerting visually. When you need the keyboard unlike other bluetooth keyboard cases I have used, there is a significant lag in activating the keyboard. The case is not properly weighted even though it is quite heavy so you must be careful that the ipad doesn’t tip backwards in the case when the case is open. This was quite unexpected. The case weight makes the ipad weigh more than my laptop. Plusses are that there is a place above the ipad for your ipencil so the ipencil can remain charged while in the case. The case charges using a type C connector unlike others that use a non-standard connector. The case is easily scratched/marred. I put the case in my laptop back with my laptop and was suprised at how easily it became scratched. It is difficult to remove the ipad from the keyboard case and that’s also very bad from my perspective. The keys on the keyboard are excessively clicky. Overall, this product does not compare favorably against my magic keyboard. The magic keyboard may cost more but it is stable, resistant to marring, has a responsive non-clicky keyboard, doesn’t require charging, and weighs significantly less (1 lb 8 oz vs 1 lb 15 oz for the Typecase.

Great price

I’ve been using this product for several months now and if I could, I would buy a different product. It’s really durable, but that also means it’s really heavy. My Apple Pencil falls out of the holder even when the iPad is closed so I have to be careful. Wish the keys would light up because it’s hard to see what the letters are on the keyboard because it’s black. I’m also a person that loves a 10 key and I wish it had one of those. All in all, it’s a decent product and does the job.

Excellent keyboard. Connected very easily and works great. So much easier to do things like typing emails, etc on the keyboard than using the screen. Matches the color of my Ipad Ait. Awesome delivery.

First task was to work on a simple excel sheet (putting a weekly schedule together); veeeerrryyy glitchy and functions and shortcuts kept interfering when I wanted to just work manually. Space bar is really sticky and needs constant double tapping to work. 2 hours later and I give up. I like the design and the swivel (and the opaque covers (unlike the other transparent ones) so I'm sad it doesn't perform. UPDATE - this seller does not respond properly to returns and complaints. They take forever to send messages and keep giving the run around to avoid a refund. Specifically: device ordered Sept 6; device returned Sept 11; Sept 12 device picked up; Sept 12/13/14 seller keeps sending me messages - try this try that, clean the keyboard of crumbs etc when the item was new out of box and should not need cleaning (!!), then response was "we will share your concerns with the appropriate department" then they say "we want to offer a replacement" etc etc - when they already have the returned item in their possession (how do I know the won't just sent the original back?) when I already told them k ordered a replacement and paid for it. The don't listen to their customers and give a draw out resolution process. I just want my money back - they have the return item and I followed the return procedures to the letter incl packaging the item back in all original packaging. BTW - replacement keyboard isn't much better quality - except the space bar works. Still very lagging and disconnects from the screw randomly and have to keep turning it on and off and reconnecting to blue tooth. Better to stick with Apple product which works seamlessly.
