how do i get sock on with one hand?

I don't think it is possible to only use one hand to put a sock on with this, you need both hands to operate it

Would this help with a size 14 ft

I am assuming you mean a shoe size 14. Socks for this size should fit onto the frame without a problem.

Had a note come with this item saying free order ? But account debited ?

It is possible you've been scammed & the "free gift" was not from Amazon but from a rogue trader, who has obviously now got your Amazon number, presumably to use for their own purposes. Change your Amazon pin immediately & contact Amazon to inform. It's doing the round of Scams this one.

Do I need to purchase specific socks for this device to work? or will any socks/bed socks be ok?

They work on any sock and are a god send so easy to use an absolute necessity
