Wish I'd had her book 3 years ago!
I've slowly but surely become a fan of LinkedIn, and have had modest success, but very inefficiently so. Melonie's book has high value on literally every page. She uses real-life case studies as illustrations, all of which I can easily use in my CPA firm. Her book is like drinking from a fire hydrant because there's no fluff like I've seen in other LinkedIn guides. Fortunately, however, she doesn't assume any level of expertise, so a techno-challenged guy like me can easily apply and benefit from her expertise. I also like that it doesn't take 27 steps to get to the first useable benefit. I just bought it a couple days ago, and I'm already benefiting. And finally, I love her writing style. Rather than come across like a prima donna, she lays out easy-to-follow steps for the quickest way to the money! Great job, Melonie. Your book was long overdue!!

An excellent guide to getting the most out of LinkedIn
I certainly understand why 84% of the reviews to date are 5 star: this is an excellent guide to getting the most out of LinkedIn, the most difficult to understand Social Media site! Not only does Melonie explain the various features and functions very well, one of her case studies was a "Eureka" moment for me. For the past couple of years, I have tried in vain to use LinkedIn for sales. Just never clicked. Many variations on a theme later, I'm reading her case study 4 and it hits me why none of the previous attempts were successful!I have rewritten my latest attempt using Melonie's ideas and think that it may work now!Her Lead Gen checklist and the ideas in the last 3 or 4 on using LinkedIn in a structured way to generate leads are also gold! Thanks for a great book Melonie!John

More of an introduction than a deep dive.
I was expecting more from this book. It is lacking detail in some areas in comparison to another book I purchased last year on the subject. This is one of those books that seems designed to sell consulting and training services as opposed to being a definitive and comprehensive information resource on the subject.

This is a study course. You will really enjoy it if you read it while working infront of your computer.
For people who are really serious about promoting their business online, this is indeed one of the most recommended books they should study. Melony Dodaro writes in such a detailed way that when you study it (this book is for study, not for just read), it is as if she has come to your office and takes you step by step on exactly what you need to do to promote properly your business with linkedin. I believe that if you get this book, you won’t need another one on this subject. I would just want to make a request to the writer: “Will you please write one more book on how to grow my e-mail list? I am sure you know the subject very well, so, I am looking forward for your next publication. Thank you for the great content”.

Must-read if you want to use LinkedIn more effectively
I found this book so valuable that I've been recommending it to everyone I know who's interested in strengthening their presence on LinkedIn. No single resource about LinkedIn can cover every aspect of that platform. What I appreciated about Melonie's book is the way she first has you define your ideal clients so you can then structure all aspects of your profile with those people in mind. She gives detailed, step-by-step instructions (with reasons why) for creating a strong profile, and she makes it easy to map out a strategy with action plan. While it's true to that offers ways to work with her beyond the book, those few references did not detract from the value she delivered in the rest of the book. If you're not sure what to do on LinkedIn and want to improve your effectiveness, I highly recommend this book.

Excellent LinkedIn Resource!
Melonie has done an outstanding job of writing a book about LinkedIn which takes it to the next level. Many users view LinkedIn as merely an online resume or a job hunting service. (I always know when a layoff is coming somewhere by the flurry of connection requests that usually precedes it!)This book outlines an approach for developing a program to develop connections and generate leads.I liked how it was divided into two (2) sections. The first for developing your own profile and the second for how to develop a larger community. The five (5) case studies were short and made their points showing practical applications of Melonie's lessons.Melonie offers no silver bullet only a solid approach for using LinkedIn successfully.I'm glad that I purchased her book and even gladder that I read it!I strongly recommend "The LinkedIn Code" for anyone looking to become a master user of the tool!
