five stars
Just received Utech 118LED and got it mounted easily with screw mounting hole. After dark I went and tested and it work awesome! Have them mounted slightly below the roof line at about 6 ft up. I have looked at hundreds of these type of lights and have yet to find one as bright as this one. The side LED's really are great. The corner LED's put out just enough extra light to really make the unit very efficient as a whole. As far as the motion sensor goes I am very pleased. They registered motion in the front at around 20+ feet and about the same slightly to the side as well. No false-triggering of the sensor during some wind when the tree branches were swaying either

Bright
Got this to illuminate my front door when my tenant comes home late at night. This unit came pre-charged, worked right out of the box. I did go ahead and let it bask under the sun for a couple of days before installing. The brightness of this unit is fantastic, however, the motion sensor is not as sensitive as I would like it to be. At first, I was worried that the light wouldn't charge as I installed it about a foot under the soffit, but it seems to be charging just fine. My in-laws purchased a different brand and they barely light up, as mine is still shinning in full brightness.

Stop looking. Buy this one - you will not regret it.
By far, this is the very best solar light i have every owned. I tried a few similar models but this one is by far the best. The light is bright, it lasts a long time, it changes even on cloudy days. The motion detector does its thing as expected. Super easy to install. The button in the is insulated so water/ice/dust doesn't get in there (give Utech engineers a pat in back) it's a small detail that makes a big difference when i comes to durability.I'm satisfied. Great product. I recommend it.

Does not light up intended area. Light is too dim.
I am disappointed in the performance of the light. I bought it to light up my driveway at night and it doesn't do that. The instructions say that on position "3" it will be a bright light. It isn't. It isn't about security. It's about being able to see at night when I arrive home from evening business meetings.

Super bright light
Super bright light. Very happy that it has multiple settings I prefer it stay dim all night, and then come on brighter when it detects motion. when I go out with my dog after dark I can see easily. A light like this will make me feel much more secure at night and I hope make it less likely for intruders to come. I hope it also keeps animals away, I live in a very rural area. Very good quality, very pleased with this purchase.

Missing waterproofing gasket
I liked this lamp right away. Loved how bright it was, and I decided I wanted to do a little investigation as to its internal operation, so I decided to open up the back cover, and I ended with mixed feelings afterwards. The first thing that I saw was that the power source for the LEDs is a couple of 2200mAh Lithium Ion batteries. These are the larger 3.7-volt (18650) batteries that will normally cost about $10 for a pair of this capacity. These are wired in parallel which means that the energy available to the LEDs under a full charge is a whopping 4400mAh. Just to give you an idea that’s more battery capacity than any cell phone I can think of, and about ½ of the capacity of an iPad.While that’s certainly a lot of power for LEDs which don’t draw a lot of power, that’s not the whole story. The small solar cells in this lamp are pretty common and although these are listed as having a 24% efficiency (compared to most which have 18%-20%), that’s still not a lot of current to charge these large capacity batteries. So, I measured the output of the solar cells at the most light I could possibly give them around 12 o’clock, and saw almost 300 mA at 6 volts being generated. That’s actually pretty good and about as good as could be expected from a little solar panel such as this.So what does all that mean, you ask. It means that this lamp will require full sun for about 15 hours in order to charge the batteries completely. Obviously, most of the time, the batteries won’t be fully drained, and they should be able to fully charge over a few days. Keep that in mind if you find that your lamp is not getting fully charged or if it’s not lighting up as long as you’d expect, it may be that it’s not getting enough sunlight to keep up with the battery use.I think the lamp is pretty good, and I like the way it’s designed, but I do have one problem with it. In the description it’s listed as being IP65. IP65 means: “Totally protected against dust ingress, and protected against low pressure water jets from any direction. Limited ingress permitted.” I don’t think that’s the case. As you can see in my photos there is a seal around the edge of the back cover, however, the seal only goes half-way around the edge. The seal stops in the top right corner, and the bottom left corner. I don’t know if this was a manufacturing mistake, or they just figured most of the water would be coming from above anyway (rain), but in either case it’s not really IP65. Just to round out the seal situation, the cover for the IR/motion sensor does have a rubber gasket, the clear plastic cover for the LEDs appears to be sealed or glued around the edges, and the power switch in the back, has a silicone cover over it.If it wasn’t for the missing seal, I would give this 5 stars and consider it top notch, but a missing seal, or misleading information if pretty egregious. In my case, I can remedy the situation, but beware if you’re counting on it to be resistant to water.

Be worth it
It’s very worth it. I get off late in the night like around 9, I can't see anything when i try to open the door. With the light i just walk up to the door and it lights up and i can see where the lock is. I don’t even have to buy additioal batteries because it's a solar light.

Bright but lifespan is super short.
I bought three of these total and two of them are completely out. They work great for a very short time then they just die. I would have highly recommended these because they are bright for the short period that they actually work.
