Bong Joon Ho Doesn’t Miss
Mickey 17 is exactly what great science fiction should be: thought-provoking, unsettling, and unafraid to hold a mirror up to our current world. Bong Joon-ho, as always, blends sharp satire with stunning visuals, and the result is a film that’s both entertaining and deeply reflective. It’s fascinating to watch certain reviewers twist themselves into knots over the film’s “agenda”, as if using art to explore power, identity, and exploitation is somehow new. These same people never seem to complain when films glorify violence, nationalism, or corporate greed, but the moment a story suggests we think critically about those structures? Suddenly, it’s “preachy.”Let’s be honest; If you’re upset that a science fiction movie made you think, or that it didn’t coddle your worldview, that says more about you than the film. This isn’t a spoon-fed popcorn flick; it’s a layered, intelligent piece of work from a director who has never pulled his punches.

Amazon a shady company
Great movie. Anyone saying it is too preachy or stupid stuff like that are probably the people the movie is making fun of. There is a story there aside from metaphors. Unfortunately Amazon changed the price on me after ordering and stole my money. They wouldn't do anything about it because I didn't take screenshots of every step of the order so I had no proof of the sale price. Shady company.

Interesting film
This was a very enjoyable movie that didn't stay in the movie theaters for a very little time. I had wanted to see it as the movie trailer interested me, but it was gone before I had the chance to go and watch it. I was glad that i purchased it.

Damaged
I actually like this movie but that’s not my problem. Amazon shipped me this item and I received it damaged. I got a replacement, also damaged. Is Amazon punting their packages into their trucks? What is going on?

An interesting premise is squandered to push a tired political message
This film had such an interesting premise and an opportunity to do something truly unique, but the writers opted, instead to use it in an attempt to forward a political agenda that has already been done to death.Mickey is a low-IQ person who placed his trust in someone undeserving and would up desperate to skip the planet. Penniless and at the back of a very long line, without reading it, he signs a contract that guarantees him a seat on a colony ship. The practice of "printing" humans, has been outlawed by the good and wise governments of Earth, but since they don't have jurisdiction in space, Mickey can be used as a disposable human and re-printed whenever he gets killed. Each time he is re-printed a number is affixed to the end of his name. While the premise of duplicating a human being is not novel in the world of cinema, this notion of "printing" puts it in a very contemporary frame of reference. The comedic effect of making the "printer" behave the same way a paper printer does was a genius choice. Unfortunately that's about where the creativity and genius peak for this film. The expedition is led and funded by a maniacal failed politician (played by Mark Ruffalo) and his even more insane and sauce-obsessed wife. Their portrayal of conservative Christians tries to be as offensive to both groups as possible but only succeeds in being embarrassingly clumsy. This, also, isn't really novel. Hollywood has been Christian and convservative-bashing since well before I was born, however this does hit a new low water mark. The only context in which the performance is even coherent is if the writers and the actors had absolutely no exposure to a conservative or Christian in the real world and based these characters and performances on only the most hyperbolic of hateful opinion of them. There were a number of interesting themes that could have been explored like the ethics of human cloning, the complexities of human identity, the practical ramifications of cloning, or fun "what-if" scenarios that take the concept to the extreme. There are the tiniest of hints of these things throughout the film but none of them garner more than a couple of lines of dialogue or a few seconds of screen time. Unfortunately the predominant focus of the narrative is a poorly crafted mockery of conservatism and Christianity draped in the clothing of a science fiction setting. This film could possibly have worked as a revenge fantasy against conservatism or Christianity, but there's too much straw sticking out of the edges of the strawman for even that to be satisfying.Give this one a miss.

One of the best movies of 2025.
Great story, great acting, great effects. One of my favorite movies of 2025. Yes, it's a movie that calls fascism wrong and points out that religion is often used to manipulate the public by people with evil goals. If that offends you, this probably isn't your kind of movie. However, I found it ridiculously fun.

Love the story and good acting by casts
Watched in the theater and i liked it and it was great. I think there is some lost in translation on the funny side (could been more funnier like the guardian of galaxy). The story is good and acting was awesome by the casts (Pattinson acted really good). CGI on aliens was really good too. I wish it made it in pg13 for more people to see.
