Blazing Fast Storage – Next-Gen Speeds You Can Feel
The Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB is an absolute monster of an SSD. I upgraded from a Gen 4 drive, and the difference is immediately noticeable — boot times, game load times, file transfers, everything feels instant. The 14,800MB/s read speed isn’t just a number — this thing flies, especially when working with large files or AI workflows.Installation was easy on my Gen 5-compatible motherboard, and it runs cool with proper airflow. I primarily use it for gaming and creative workloads (video editing, AI models), and it hasn’t stuttered once. Samsung’s Magician software is a nice bonus for firmware updates and performance monitoring. If you’re running a high-end build and want to truly take advantage of PCIe 5.0 speeds, this drive is worth it. It’s future-proof, crazy fast, and from a brand known for reliability.

Windows booting and Visual Studio compiling are SO fast!
This drive is so, so fast. While I am not able to max out the advertised top speed of 14,800MB/s sequential read, I do get around 13,000MB/s read and write, which is still great! Windows 11 boots so quickly, and compiling software in Visual Studio on my new build takes under a minute where it used to take 4-5 minutes on my last build. This drive stays cool thanks to the Thermalright HR10 2280 PRO Black SSD Cooler I put on it, topping out at 45C under heavy load and 32C-ish under normal load. I got a great deal on the 4TB at the time and it was a great price for an excellent PCIe 5.0 drive. It's a super fast, great drive so far. Here are my latest components:ASUS ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming WiFi Intel® Z890 LGA 1851 ATX MotherboardIntel Core Ultra 7 Desktop Processor 265K - 20 cores (8 P-cores + 12 E-cores) up to 5.5 GHzCORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MHz CL40-40-40-77 1.25V Intel XMP Desktop Computer MemorySamsung SSD 9100 PRO 4TB, PCIe 5.0x4 M.2 2280, Seq. Whether I’m gaming, doing AI workloads, or video editing, this drive keeps up without breaking a sweat. It’s super easy to install, runs cool for a Gen 5 SSD, and the performance uplift is very noticeable compared to Gen 4. If you're building a next-gen rig or just want top-tier speed, this drive is worth every penny.

Fast and solid - ole reliable
Can confirm it works with PCIE 3 on my Asus Maximus X code Intel board. I'm capped but it's still super fast. Worked flawlessly. 4TB for my future build alongside my 9070XT

This thing is a monster!
The Samsung 9100 PRO NVMe SSD is an absolute beast! Blazing fast speeds up to 14,720 MB/s read and 13,480 MB/s write make it perfect for gaming, video editing, and data heavy tasks. Transferring a 61.5 GB game folder took just 20 seconds. The heatsink keeps temps relatively low, and the 5nm Presto controller ensures efficiency. Installation was seamless on my laptop. It's so far been an excellent upgrade from the Samsung 980 pro. it's a bit pricey but worth it for power users.

Excellent SSD - Worth the upgrade
Definitely worth the upgrade and can notice significant differences between this and my Acer Gen 4 in both content creation, gaming and load speeds. Temps are fantastic at ~33 degrees with my mobo’s heatsink. I have the Rog Strix X870E-E

Great speed, no performance issue
Have been using it for a month. The speed is exceptional. It is well built. I did not encounter any installation issue with motherboard slot. Given my motherboard already have heatsink, I have not experience any heat issue.Consider the amount of storage you need for this speed before you buy. If your motherboard only has 1 M.2 Gen5, you might want a bigger storage.

Fast, reliable, 8TB version to be released later in 2025
First, this is a PCIe 5.0 x4, not PCIe 4.0. It will work fine on PCIe3.0 and PCIe4.0, but you may want to consider a cheaper version if you don’t have a newer system as you will likely be somewhat limited - if not due to the link speed, then due to the power of your CPU, which is likely to be slower on PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 4.0 systems. Should you get this or stick to Samsung 9xx Pro? Depends how important money is to youNote that Samsung states that an 8TB version will be released later in 2025. Some may want to wait for that depending on their use
