I hate the chrome look or shiny black of many stools and the price was super great! Easy to put together. I love how they can go up and down and have used them at the lowest height around the breakfast table (nearby in the photo attached) for large group games and raise them higher for the island height. Have not had any issues with them being unbalanced. Almost immediately anyone who comes into the kitchen just hops on the stools and it just seems very homey. My kitchen is gray, black and white and these stools were the perfect addition.

A: Don’t know these came in sets of 2.

**Q: Can you have them not swivel**
A: I don't believe so, these chairs are made to swivel.

**Q: So by choosing no size I can’t adjust the height?**
A: No, you will want to not do that if you’re going to.

**Q: is the seat padded or hard plastic?**
A: There is maybe 1/4 inch to 1/2 Bach padding.

Love, love, love these stools! They are comfortable and compact perfect for the small space around the kitchen island. Really liking these so far! They were easy to assemble and look really nice at our kitchen island. I like the all black base over the chrome most of these types of stools have. They're very comfortable and seem sturdy. Because of the lower price point, I do worry about the quality of the seat upholstery and how long that will last - but again, at a price like this we don't expect them to last forever, and they'll do just fine for now. I will say - they came with quite a strong chemical smell, but it wore off after a few days. All in all, if you can tolerate the smell for a few days and don't require them to last forever, these stools are a great option!
