I would buy another one!
I bought this "bug zapper" to keep the moths, flying beetles, and tons of other insects that were attracted to my bay of windows and glass doors on my back porch attracted by the flashing TV and living space lights. I live deep in the woods. I have two cats that always want in the back doors (deck) at night and as soon as I open the door, so many insects get into the house. I am absolutely amazed how well this works. I put this on my deck railing top. I put it in mode II (meaning it turns on and off on its own and charges via solar during the day). You can plug it in (USB) but I only did that day one to make sure it was working, otherwise it does its thing day in and day out. Cleaning: Where I live, this unit kills so many flying insects, I clean it every two or three days. The only reason I do it so often is because the "grid" gets filled with dead insects. If anyone has stress tested this unit, that is me. What is so nice is you set the unit on its side and apply a light spray of water from a hose. Flip it over and do the other side and that is it. All of them come out. The directions say wait 5 minutes before turning back on to let the water drip off the bulbs and electric "grid" but I do it in the morning and let it dry while charging during the day. I have started it wet however there was a short period of time that the "grid" cracked and snapped for a few minutes. No harm, no foul, but I think that just puts unneeded use of the unit. So here is the interesting thing about on/off cycle. I live in Virginia. At this time of year, and three weeks ago that I deployed this unit, it would turn itself on around 8:00 pm. Now, three weeks later, it turns itself on around 8:15 as it stays light later. Highly accurate time "to-on". I am an early riser and the unit is still on until roughly 5:00 am. Then it recharges itself. I read so many of the reviews out there. There are some that had a unit that failed early. It happens. I hope my unit continues, it has only been three weeks. However, assuming it lasts at least a year, I would buy another.

Cheaply made product
I would not recommend this bug zapper. The quality is very poor, and the support poles do not screw or fit properly into the base. While assembling it, I noticed there were no threads or ridges for the poles to lock into place they simply slide in loosely. As I turned the bug zapper upside down to try to get the legs installed, one of the legs suddenly came flying back when I turned it over again and struck my foot. The impact was severe enough that I had to seek medical attention, where I was diagnosed with a hairline fracture. I am now wearing a foot brace and an orthopedic boot. This was a frightening experience from what should have been a simple assembly. I wanted to share my experience so others can be aware and use extreme caution if they decide to purchase this product. Also, I immediately put my foot in my pool since the water was cold and yes I was wearing sandals assembling this since my kids were swimming I wanted to keep the mosquitos away.
