Cools well but faulty due to noise level
Cools well in the bedroom but at night time you can hear it, generally it is loud. My one now and then is making a rattling noise and i have to bang it to stop it. 2 minutes later it starts again, it’s faulty so am returning it. I did however like the size of it and how it cools quickly. Im a light sleeper and that noise is keeping me awake.

Mr Freeze To The Rescue
One of the best purchases ever! I did a preemptive strike against Summer this year, and bought this unit. Our living room windows face South and act like radiators in sunny weather, making the room 30°C or higher, which is quite uncomfortable. Not this time! After working all day in a hot kitchen, I was coming home and firing up Mr Freeze, as I call it. It was instantly a pleasant feeling of a strong fan, followed by a cooling breeze, with the temperature dropping from 29 to 24 in minutes. My partner was constantly asking me to turn it off because she felt cold lol. I bought a window sealing kit, which looks like shower curtain material and tapes around the window (we have windows that open outwards vertically), so I could have the exhaust pipe out the window with the material making a seal. The remote control buttons all do their jobs, including selecting the fan speed, mode etc, so not sure what other reviews dissing the remote are about. I posted on FB about my purchase, and a friend asked me about it, asking whether it was good enough to turn his living room from a hell on Earth lol. He bought one, this model, and was as happy as I am. They aren't excessively noisy, but a lot more louder than a desk fan on high, which is to be expected. We have to turn the TV up a bit, but not majorly. And there's always subtitles if it's very late lol. We only use ours for cooling, we won't be using the dehumidifier. We have a dedicated one of those anyway. But I can honestly say that the long streak of very warm days this Summer (and late Spring) hasn't bothered us at all. I wish I had bought one years ago, but in the UK we just suffer, because we don't have aircon like in the US. That's why these mobile units are expensive. It works with Alexa, but there's not a great deal you can do. You can set up a mode with a temperature setting, and Alexa will activate it. For example if you make a routine that is triggered when you say "Chill the room", you can set the parameters of mode, fan speed, and the temperature to reach. Mine is set to cooling mode, fan speed high, 22°C. Also, if you ask Alexa what the temperature of the living room is (or whatever room you have told Alexa where the unit is) she will tell you what the sensor says on the aircon unit. Obviously you can also ask Alexa to turn the unit off. The 'Smart Home' app is actually quite good too. If there's one negative thing to say, it's that upon reaching the target temperature, the cooling circuits turn off and leave just the fan on. It's still blowing a good strong breeze, but I wish the unit could turn off completely after reaching the target temperature. Power consumption wise, it was using around 23 to 25 pence an hour. We only had it on for an hour or 2 after work, and for longer periods during the weekend. But if I was melting in my living room and feeling drowsy and weak from the heat, I would have gladly paid a wizard to cast a chill spell and make my room like a warm fridge lol. You know when you are out and about, and it's extremely hot, and you walk into a public place such as a supermarket with aircon, and it feels beautiful, like you have stepped inside a fridge... that was our living room in the recent hot weather. This unit is cheaper than some others, yet also more costly than some, but the price was nice, and it does the job very well.

Cools, but incredibly loud and missing parts
Doesn't come with all the parts it says it should come with and is insanely loud - sounds like something is wrong with it. Can't even sit in the room and talk with it on let alone at nighttime. Do not waste your money!

impressed at the price point
Out of the box some plastic items had damage with no damage to the box, although annoying it didn't reduce functionality. I wanted a larger btu unit and in the time this was the only option. The unit is loud as in fan draught noise, some may not sleep with it. The vent kit is no use for a window that swings open and we got creative with a solution that works and can easily be removed. We also put the drain into a bucket as there is a lot of water and other than it gets in the way it means less mess emptying. Its physical size is good so can be stored when not in use. Although its borderline on power for our bedroom size it manages the room quite well to a comfort level that is a bit too cold. Help would be needed to carry upstairs for most but when on casters you dont notice the weight, as for the wifi we havent tried that and probably no use to us. The remote works ok. Quality wise you get what you pay for, would I buy another? yes but i'll wait for the price to come down again.

Cheap but brilliant aircon
It's taken me several years to actually buy a home aircon instead of a zillion fans and I finally took the plunge with this unit. Once I'd unboxed it and checked everything was there, it was remarkable simple to assemble - everything went exactly where it looked like it should (It's a bloke thing...) so I just got on with it and checked the books afterwards. There are various different fittings for almost every type of window (apart from mine, of course!) but as the British weather is so fickle, and this will not be in place all year round, I just draped the outlet (hot air) hose out of the window, connected the drain hose and put a bucket behind the unit to collect any condensed water, and turned it on. Temperature had dropped from about 86°F to a much more comfortable 76°F inside half an hour. Noise levels are acceptable, about as loud as a 16" fan on full speed, nothing like the racket reported by some reviewers. The supplied remote control is adequate but I went for the App control as well, loading Smarthome onto my phone and connecting the Aircon. That was really easy too, just followed the instructions in the booklet and Presto! another addition to my smart living collection. It can also be controlled using Alexa if you want but I haven't tried that yet. Build quality seems to be good, it's a nice compact unit and doesn't take up much floor space, though you do need to be near a window or outlet for the exhaust hose, and is on casters so it's simple to move around as necessary. The only negative against it, and it's being really picky, is that the slats do not oscillate. If that's a red line for you, then by all means spend 4 times as much for one that has moving vents, but for me this is a brilliant piece of kit, wish I'd bought one earlier. So far, it's performed way above expectations for a unit of this price so I'm very happy to recommend it.

Not great at cooling.
This unit isn't great at cooling rooms. During the on going heatwave we've used it and it's barely taken the temperature down overall. You feel cool air if you're right next to it, but after a couple of meters, it's almost pointless. It just feels like warm air being blown around. I've given two stars because it's brilliant at pulling moisture out of the air, and it semi-worked in the bedroom as that's a small room, but even that wasn't amazing. Also, what didn't help was that the swing function didn't work. So the air only came out at a certain angle.

Life saver
Managed to get one before the heatwave hit and this thing has been a life saver. Every day it has been consistently 10 degrees cooler than outside. The Dehumidifier is excellent and I've been chucking out around 20litres a day! Set up was fast and the window attachment is easy to put up. Noise level is similar to other portable aircons and sleep mode is significantly quieter. It is heavy but on wheels and moves easily even on my carpeted floor. I can't say much about the longevity as I've only had it a week but it does seem to be good build quality too.
