Q: How many calories in a Tablespoon?? Thank you!

When I look it up on line, I believe it equates to about 58 calories per tablespoon. That is fairly similar to regular molasses which has about 61 calories per tablespoon. However, the treacle has a much greater flavor!!!

Just saw this question today, and found an answer—today! Thanks to wonderful Amazon reviewers who also had a sweet tooth for the Callard and Bowser liquorice, I think we may have a good, maybe great substitute for anybody else who reads this thread. It’s Walker’s Nonsuch Toffee company’s Walker’s Liquorice Toffee. I haven’t tried it yet, but just put in my first order. I’ve searched for Callard and Bowser for years (I didn’t remember the name until today!), so am really excited to give this a try. Hope this helps anyone else trying to recapture one of those pure pleasures of their youth.

I don't believe they have an expiration date. This is a sugar syrup very similar to molasses and I don't think they have expiration dates. Unfortunately, I used up my can of Tate and Lyle's Black Treacle about 3 weeks ago, and it was well over a year old, but I disposed of the can so I can't confirm my beliefs.

Hi Gregory , yes ... Tate & Lyle's treacle is the traditional choice for Sticky toffee pudding and many more British desserts . Its a lovely robust and rich treacle ... molasses in the States isn't as rich in my humble opinion . If you need a taster ... count me in : ) . All the best , Steven
