Also would I have to scuff up the paint?** A: I used loctite construction adhesive and 16 gauge brads or a small finish nail. As far as the preconstruction wall. I would wash the wall in advance. I put a quick coat of dark paint down to help in the event there was any showthrough. But if your wall is already painted a color that wouldn’t look bad behind the wood you can start putting up the planks after the washed wall is dry. **Q: How much would I need for a 6x4 space** A: that is 24 square feet….so you will need to buy 3 orders of 10 sq ft **Q: Would these work on a concrete/cinder block wall? What adhesive would you recommend for that? I don’t want to drill holes in the wall.** A: I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as long as you use an adhesive that bonds to wood and concrete, I used liquid nails and I think that would for you too but double check. This fit the bill perfectly and was easy to work with. THIS IS RECLAIMED BARNWOOD. You can expect to see some knot holes, old nail holes, etc. That is the point! If you are looking for perfectly manicured wood with no imperfections, look elsewhere. I ordered their largest size on Amazon and got a great assortment of different colored boards, as you can see from the picture. For the most part they are all milled well and pretty square, but you still should use a level when putting them up. They were all planed to the same thickness with very minimal bowing. A few boards had a slight cup to them, which would be expected (and adds to the look). I hung mine with a brad nailer instead of construction adhesive, so it could be removed without tearing up the entire wall if a future owner does not want it. The boards all stay in place with no problems.
