Two ladies somehow put me into a large. From experience I will tell you, if you've had surgery, you want these garments SUPER tight. However, if you don't have help, it just may be impossible to get into. I wore the large the whole while I was in the D.R. I've been able to get it on by myself a few times since I've been home. I wear my XL regularly however. It is still just as tight as when i first purchased it. but after being taught by the lovely nurses (doctors) in the D.R. how to put it on, I can get into my XL with a lil work by myself. I saw a pic on here of a lady with it on but it's not all the way closed. Trust me, you can get it on. My advice, if you have not had surgery and just want to use it for compression get a size larger than it suggest. If you have had surgery and go by they chart, work your way into the garment.
