Review: great camera and would buy again. - i had been using a sony a6300 previously and it was really a great camera decided to try the full frame cameras and still liked the mirrorless idea, more lens options etc, the RP seemed to be what i was looking for, i don't do video per se, camera turns out some very nice photos, reminds me of my old 35mm days with much more fine detail of course. i was impressed with it and seemed to see more depth in the photos than i would normally see in the a6300 maybe a full frame lens thing. it has all the settings a non pro occasional photographer would need. af seems more than fast enough and that's comparing to the a6300 that was pretty fast. battery life seems good despite what others may say, certainly not a pain to carry a extra couple batteries i have only had to do one battery change in the field with it and that was because i started with a half charged battery. i like shooting manual lenses and it will shoot those just fine with an adapter and in manual or aperture modes. ie you set the aperture and focus using the focus aid and the camera does the iso and shutter speed in A works well and adds a dimension to the hobby that you may not get with full frame dslr cameras. great camera and would buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If you use an ef or ef-s lens, does the camera give a cropped image or do you get a full frame image?**
A: I just got the RP and Dennis explains the EF-S limitations perfectly. Two notes to add: 1) The result of this cropping is that your image size with EF-S (APS-C) lenses will be only ~10.1 megapixels (less than a modern smartphone camera or the old 2003 Canon 10D!). 2) With my old 2009 Sigma "DC" mount lenses (Sigma's designation for EF-S/APS-C compatible lenses), the RP will not automatically choose "1.6x crop," so I have to do it manually (it's an option in the "image format/aspect-ratio" menu). Otherwise, I do get the black vignetting around the image.

**Q: I have only 1 question. is the 4k cropped like on the m50?**
A: Yes. All video is cropped to some extent because it is in a different aspect ratio. In addition, the 4K doesn't use the full width of the sensor. This is really more of a camera for stills shooters. The video is more of an extra feature.

**Q: Reading from other sites the base model at this price is supposed to include the grip and the EF mount ring.. are these items included??**
A: During pre-order the adapter and grip were for free, right know you need to pay them.

**Q: Does this come with an Adapter?**
A: Hello

the camera only included

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best and still the cheapest full-frame camera out there
*by L***X on 2025年5月13日にカナダでレビュー済み*

Been using the RP for more than a year now. What made me go for the RP is its affordability, i can still say now in 2025 that the RP is still the cheapest full-frame camera in the market. It's worth every money spent! Pros: -Cheapest FF -Decent Sensor Size -Its a canon -face detection -focus is fast but this will only be noticeable on RF lenses. -perfect option for still shots. -very light compared to other full-frame mirrorless cameras out there. Cons: -Its a canon RF mount, this means very limited lens option as of now unless you get an EF adapter. -no IBIS -no animal eye detection -no mechanical shutter, closing the shutters while changing lenses wont be an option. -battery can be an issue if shooting video (very limited video capabilities for 2025). Final thoughts: Though there are some limitations on the RP, it is okay so as this is marketed as an entry camera to full-frame. I would definitely not buy another one, as there is no point. I would invest on the higher tier canon bodies. But i definitely not regret getting the RF as this has been fantastic starter even with the limitations.
