Can't load properly even Windows XP? (If the date setting is not meaningful, Windows XP cannot be loaded correctly. CMOS battery voltage is low). Then it's time to replace your CMOS RTC coin battery. Every computer has a small coin cell battery that provides power to the BIOS chip, effectively maintain the date and other internal settings. If you don't have these cmos batteries or cmos batteries, these internal settings will not work. CMOS RTC batteries need to be replaced every few years (usually 3-4 years). That was too bad, as I liked the machine. The supposed one-year warranty from the no-name manufacturer was a joke. They didn't respond to my attempts to contact them and seem to have gone out of business. The pattern of malfunctioning I observed for this PC up until the time it completely died matched the symptoms of a failing BIOS battery. In particular, there were months of erratic booting and, toward the end, the system clock slowed down and behaved erratically. But the machine was just six months old, so I found the "bad BIOS battery" diagnosis impossible to believe. (BIOS batteries should last years and years.) Although skeptical, I removed the BIOS battery from the PC and measured its voltage. It was fine: exactly 3 volts. That seemed to rule out the BIOS battery as a source of the malfunction. But with nothing else to try, I ordered this LeFix replacement BIOS battery anyway to see if that would make a difference. When the new battery arrived last month, I plopped it into my PC, screwed the PC's case back together, and plugged in the machine. I thoroughly expected the machine to remain dead as before, butβ€”amazinglyβ€”the PC sprang to life immediately and has worked fine ever since! Go figure. ## Frequently Bought Together - LeFix CMOS RTC BIOS Battery Replacement Compatible with HP 820 G1 640 G1 CR2032 with Connector 2 Pins 2 Wires 1.0mm Pitch - PNY CS900 500GB 3D NAND 2.5" SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - (SSD7CS900-500-RB) - Timetec 16GB KIT(2x8GB) DDR3L/DDR3 1600MHz(DDR3L-1600) PC3L-12800 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.35V/1.5V CL11 2Rx8 Dual Rank 204 Pin SODIMM Laptop Notebook RAM --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/732861167-hp-820-g1-640-g1-compatible-connector-cable-2-pin](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/732861167-hp-820-g1-640-g1-compatible-connector-cable-2-pin) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
