It is 5 MP. Still not 8 MP. But that does give you a recommended recording size of 2592 x 1944 per the sony datasheet. 4K is 3840x2160. That is 2/3 the resolution on width (2592/3840) and 90% the height (1944/2160). Seems to me with mild interpolation that you would get essentially 4K resolution vertically. From the top of hood to the sun is a narrow angle so that would be PLENTY. SADLY, the 150 degrees left to right is where you need the extra resolution!!! 1080P(rogressive) is 1920 Horizontal pixels or 12.8 pixels/degree for 150 deg, this cam is 2592 Horizontal pixels or 17.28 pixels/degree and 4K is 3840 Horizontal pixels or 25.6 pixels/degree. That is a lot of interpolation required because of the wide angle. But if the image processor is a good one, it will use the physical closeness of the Vertical samples and complex interpolation techniques to not only map into 4K 3840x2160 well compressed mp4, but correctly adjust for spatial differences in the horizontal and vertical directions without unnecsary black bars or distortions. **Q: what is continue running time,5 hours or 8 hours with 64 gb** A: Hey There, WIth 64GB @ 4K = 5+ Hours of video before it starting to loop.
