Vello CB-900 Flexible Macro Flash Bracket

well built unit. Supports a Godox 685 strobe as a 2nd flash in a macro rig. The included cold shoe locks securely and can be unscrewed from the 1/4-20 screw on the bracket. A bonus...the ttl flash contacts do not contact the bracket when the flash is slid into the shoe because of the trough design in the shoe. The flash is solid when the bracket is vertical. There is a slight flex if the unit with flash is tilted fully horizontal, but it is minor. In my case the flash is kept at a flexed angle and does not move at all as I move the macro rig around. Bottom of the bracket is a 1.5" Arca style mount. The camera screw is recessed making the base flat on the bottom. Rubber padding on the handle is fairly thick and comfortable although I would like a fatter bracket handle for gripping. Very nice and adaptable unit for an excellent price.

The components that make up the bracket live up to the advertisement. I use the bracket with off camera flash and mini-softbox, for macro photography. Thus, I am making adjustments to the angle of the flash on a consistent basis. In so doing, the screw that connects the flex shaft to the arca swiss plate keeps loosening up. I don't want to over torque the screw and possibly strip the threads or use any thread lock. I need to disassemble it to travel in my back-pack. Other than that minor issue, it is worth the purchase price.

Good and strong quality.I use it with an external flash.I like it but I wish it could be a bit softer.

The arm is flexible but it does not retain the position you bend it to, which defeats the purpose of a flexible arm. After you bend it, it resets back to an upright position by itself.
