Mini Flashlight – Outdoor Camping Survival Tool with Morse Code Signal Button

Given the size, the plastic feel might seem flimsy compared to other similarly sized 2x AA flashlights. However, next to my original MX991 model, the feel of the plastic is very similar for my version. The switch is no rivetted in, but held with screws and may be more serviceable down the line. The original equipped bulbs are good. Consider an upgrade of a Dorcy 3 volt LED bulb makes it far better. It may not have much of a reflector to deliver a more uniformed cone of light, but it delivers a usable hot spot and a very usable perimeter wash of light.

Had thought of ordering the full-sized (D-cell) version, but saw this, and found out it uses a standard PR6 incandescent (same as the D-cell version). Since I had a spare Dorcy 41-1643 LED replacement for the PR6, I decided to take a chance. Decent little flashlight, just as it came, though I don't expect the AA batteries would last long with the incandescent bulb. Though I wondered if LED would pair well with the reflector focal length, they work beautifully, together. Focused, bright white light. Can't speak to durability, yet, but it seems well made. Very happy.

TERRIBLE. Made of weak garbage plastic, emits extremely dim light. I promise any basic cell phone light is at least 50 times brighter than this.

Our 11-year old is enjoying this tool. He says the light is not very powerful but other than that, the tool has been fun.

This is a nice little flashlight for close at hand tasks. It's not very bright, especially with the colored lenses in place, but it's great for times when you just need a little illumination for a project. I use it at work to fix equipment that my patients are wearing while they sleep. It's bright enough for me to do what needs done, but not so bright to wake them or hurt their eyes. (unless it was pointed right at their face) It's nice to be able to clip it to my shirt and have both hands free to work, and it's not over-kill like most head-mounted lights I've come across. The plastic housing seems to be strong and durable, yet nice and light weight. It also does not appear to be a battery hog, which is a plus.

Good flashlight, NOT LED, thats why I gave a 3 star. It is what you would expect if ordered just the bulb is in no way shape or form an LED.

A recent study (July 2020) mentioned that shining a red light (~650nm) into your eyes for 3 minutes a day can improve aging vision by rejuvenating the rods and cones in your eyes. Wow, who'da thunk? Giving it 30-seconds of intense thought, I realized that these mini GI flashlights were just the ticket. They're incandescent not LED, so they won't burn out your retinas or optic nerves (this is a good thing). Plus, they're supplied with 4 lenses (including red) used for signalling (clear/red), hunting (green), and night vision (red/blue) purposes. After getting a pair of AA batteries and lens installed, they work great. The only minor caveat is that the on/off switch is a little stiff on initial use. Just work it back and forth a few times and it will loosen up. BTW, the extra lenses _store_ in the end butt cap (NOT the battery compartment cap) and _install_ in the front lens cap (NOT the bulb compartment cap). Great solution for rejuvenating aging eyeballs. Highly recommended.

I was issued the full sized one of these in Boot camp but lost it many years ago. This was a nostalgia purchase that I wanted to make practical. I purchased some upgraded light bulbs and rechargeable batteries. It still kind of sucks like most military gear but it's better than it was and certainly a useable flashlight. Substantially smaller than the military issued one. Also, it was dirt cheap.

Bought it for my son. He is 2 years old and afrade of the dark. Wanted something that wouldn't blind him. This light is perfect. He also loves the color changing disc's that come with it. I recommend this product.

Cheap quality, not very bright and didn't come with an extra bulb like they claim. If it did, I cannot find it...

its a great flashlight, but i did'nt got a coyote one, i got a olive one, but in anycase its doing the job i want it to do and its great for its low price
