HX OUTDOORS - Small fixed blade Tanto knives with Kydex sheath made D2 Steel and G10 Handle

Great quality knife, sharpening takes a bit of elbow grease but it stays razor sharp.

Having purchased several dozen knives over the past few years I’ll go ahead and call myself a collector. I bought the “Sentinel” knife in the HX Outdoors series because the blade geometry intrigued me. I’ll start with the box it comes in which is a nice thick cardboard set-up with a magnetic open/shut. The writing on the box is mostly Chinese with a picture of a guy starting a fire with a bundle of dried grass. I found this interesting because HX Outdoors is obviously trying to promote this knife as a survival blade even though it really fits more into a self defense role given the shape and materials of the blade. As far as the knife itself, I was very happy with the fit and finish. Definitely an AUS-8 blade with g-10 scales as advertised and it looks just like what is pictured on amazon. It came sharp and ready to go(do what I’m not really sure, but it looks cool). The sheath is a disappointment. The kydex material quality is good and the belt clip is a nice addition. But the design of the sheath is poor as the knife slips in and out WAY to easily. There is no way I would try and carry this on my belt of strapped to a pack in its current configuration. For it’s price point this knife is a fun purchase, but I’m going to have to figure out how to make the retention more secure before I ever try to use it outdoors.

Excellent knife fie the price. Sturdy, sharp. Very nice carry case and comfortable to wear. Just a tough looking knife as well !! I have many knives and this will surely be one of my favorite.

Great knife its razor sharp its definitely the best looking knife I have and the sheath is great cant just pull it out it has a locking mechanism on it witch makes me really at ease when have it laying around the house or on my plate carrier at work

These guys make great blades. The materials, steel, all great. This is the second blade I've purchased from them, the first being flawless. But this one had some issues. The sheath was not quality checked. Its loose to the point of the blade literally falling out - we're talking blade won't wedge whatsoever. It's easily fixed by some black medical tape (which doesn't look bad, either), but I figured I'd make the problem known.

Handle is disproportionately small and the blade does not hold a sharp edge. It looks rad though.
