ELEGOO Herbal 3D Printer Resin is a soy-based, BPA-free photopolymer designed for LCD 3D printers operating at 405nm UV wavelength. ELEGOO The herbal 3D printer resin is safe and with a very low irritating chemical composition. Product features: 1. Uses soybean oil as raw material, natural green LCD light curing material, BPA free, conforms to EN 71-3:2013. 2. Fast curing and no deformation during the molding process, the surface of the finished product is smooth and high precision. 3. The finished product has good strength and flexibility, excellent molding and impact resistance, and with a certain elasticity. Exposure parameter: Lower exposure: 20-60s Normal exposure: 1.5 to 15 s. Resin Parameters: Hardness: 80-84D Viscosity (25°C): 200-400 mPa·s Liquid density: 1-1.1 g/cm³. Solid density: 1-1 g/cm³ F Resistance to exure: 19.86 ± 10% MPa. Extension force: 27.46±10% MPa

Review: I still detect odor, and I still get a reaction when I inhale or when it comes in contact with my skin. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to this kind of stuff than most though. It definitely is less of a reaction for me though. I would still recommend proper ventilation, a mask with a charcoal filter, and gloves. I found that 3 second cure time caused the "cones of calibration v3" to fail. I had to bump it up to between 3.3 and 3.7 seconds at 25 degrees C to get a passing result. That's just to say you will need to bump up cure time slightly from what you're used to if you're switching from a standard resin. I left initial layers at 30 seconds without issue there.

Using the default Chitubox settings for my Saturn 2 I get extremely crisp prints. That is: WHEN they don’t fail. I would say I have about a 1/3 failure rate to some degree, particularly with larger prints. Fiddling with settings has lead me back to the defaults with just a higher base time (35s) and possibly a little bump to regular layer time (3s?). The main thing I cannot seem to figure out is layers not adhering mid-print on easy areas - possibly floaters but I haven’t found any. Once you get some successful prints, cleanup is as expected, just shake around in some alcohol. Prints are VERY prone to scratching, even just a fingernail or rubbing against one another, so I’m going to look into polishing with mineral oil or coating with a primer. Parts have withstood drops fine. Slight flexibility. Supports wipe right off. Build plate adhesion is fantastic - a little TOO strong sometimes (once you raise the base time a bit to stop fails). I don’t have anything to compare the odor to but it is noticeable. Printing all day in my office with the lid and filter on was definitely still bad. But when it’s turned off or running in the closet there is zero odor whatsoever. I’ll add a little extraction fan hooked up the the lid and I’m confident I’ll never have to thing about fumes again. All-in-all I understand it’s a natural product so there will be variation to some degree. I really want to avoid the chem stuff but I may have to switch if I don’t get so many fails.

I still detect odor, and I still get a reaction when I inhale or when it comes in contact with my skin. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to this kind of stuff than most though. It definitely is less of a reaction for me though. I would still recommend proper ventilation, a mask with a charcoal filter, and gloves. I found that 3 second cure time caused the "cones of calibration v3" to fail. I had to bump it up to between 3.3 and 3.7 seconds at 25 degrees C to get a passing result. The resin performed perfectly in the printer. I have an Elegoo Saturn 2 and did not have to make any adjustments to the print settings for this resin. The detail is great. The printer is an 8K resolution and the resin captured the fine detail of the printer. It is just more brittle than I expected. My grandson dropped a hipo I had printed and it broke in multiple places. It could be a flaw in the model but I was still surprised.
