Greatest of all time!
Cant compare to others as its been a couple of years since i updated my tripod mount. Very happy with this though! Can mount my camera on it and point it into ANY direction and lock it tight and not worry about it slipping or moving. (this is with 4 months usage) literally perfect for my usage and im sure there was newer ones out when i purchased it. but whoever reccomended it to me on youtube said what i needed to hear. and ive not looked back on this purchase since. reccomend as it does what it says on the tin. cant speak for the newer versions

Quality, stable, precision-made metal ball head solution for my smartphone cage rig!
I bought this for a very specific purpose: connect my SmartRig iPhone 17 Pro cage and accessories to a portable tripod I use for on-the-go video/audio capture. My hope was to find an ARCA Swiss compatible ball head that's more compact and lightweight, but still engineered with quality, durability, precision and fine control. This ball head checks all the boxes. It is designed with a large-enough tightening point to allow for solid ball lock-down and release. It is easy to use and manage, even when the cage is fully loaded. Stability is great, small size is super-convenient. It has an added side cold shoe mount, which is great--even for hanging a power bank. I've added a couple of photos showing the ball head in place with other phone cage attachments so you can see how I'm using it. Note: a few photos show a SmartRig H11 Quick Release Adapter (Arca) connector in the Ulanzi U-80L quick-release plate slot, not the plate that comes with this ball head. That's not any sort of "knock" on the Ulanzi plate--just my own decision to use a different connector with my smartphone cage rig. Overall, this Ulanzi U-80L is a GREAT VALUE for this price point. I have some other Ulanzi gear and everything I purchased from this brand has been 5-star quality. Strongly recommend.
