I picked up this GUGUMO digital GPS speedometer for my Lincoln Mark VII, since the analog speedometer isn’t as accurate as it used to be. This GPS-based unit provides a consistent speed reading, though I’m not entirely sure it’s precise down to 1 MPH—it seems close enough for practical use. To test its accuracy, I compared its readings against multiple radar speed traps around town. In my experience, the speedometer consistently displays a reading 3 MPH faster than what those radar traps show. It’s possible the device is perfectly accurate and the radar traps are off by a couple MPH, or maybe there’s some variation in calibration between individual units. Overall, I’m satisfied with how it performs, but there are a few things worth mentioning. The screen is bright and easy to read, unless there’s direct sunlight—in which case, it becomes almost unreadable. Since it runs on GPS, it has to acquire a signal before displaying speed. If I start the car in an open area, it connects in about 5–10 seconds, but in wooded areas, it can take up to 1–2 minutes, which isn’t ideal. That’s likely more of a general GPS limitation than a fault of the device itself. Despite these minor issues, it’s a useful tool and has become part of my daily driving routine. If you need a reliable digital speedometer, this is a solid choice—just keep in mind the occasional signal delay and screen readability in bright conditions.

Kind of disappointed this thing works great. Turns from clock to speedometer in three seconds once you start moving. Easy to install on plenty of options BuTTT it is useless when the sun is out, you cannot see the display So for the money, it’s great, except for that one fault of not being able to see it in the sunlight

Fine product. Working real well fair price

Handy little gps speedometer unit. I’ve used it for both my boat and to verify the speed of my truck after putting on bigger tires. Boat speed displayed on the speedometer matches what my phone says, so I believe it to be accurate. I really like the different color options for the display. I do wish there was a brightness adjustment as well as an internal battery that would allow it to function when not plugged in, but neither of those are a deal breaker for me. Really happy with this unit!
