Works well.
Quite expensive for what it is, but that's HiFi . It works well, it's surprising how much debris it can remove from the stylus even though the record is "clean". You need to lower the volume or change to a different input when used, as there is quite a "thump" when the stylus hits the gel.

Audio Technical stylus cleaner
Compact, easy to use and effective. I was surprised to find that sound quality improved (vocals in particular sound clearer) and surface noise reduced if the stylus is cleaned before each listening session. My records are mostly 30 - 40 years old but still look very clean. However there still must be dust/ dirt in the grooves which the stylus picks up. Turntable is Cambridge Audio Alva TT2.

A must for l9vers of vynl
I was at first sceptical about purchasing this item as some reviews mentioned gum stylus cleaners can leave residue or pull to hard at the stylus. This does neither !!!! and i cant believe ive never baught it sooner .Simply lower the tone arm till the stylus just touches the gel lift repeat 2/3times gone and no residue plus once t's been used a few times just rinse off the surface and it's back in service pricey but the best quality from a top leading audio company love your vynl youl love this 👌

Better than Onzow? Possibly....
I purchased this to replace an Onzow Zero Dust.I'd had my Zero Dust for nearly a decade and it wasn't "self healing" anymore. There's been a series of articles and forums online, making claims about the Onzow leaving sticky deposits on the cantilever and stylus which got me a little worried. I investigated further and saw a statement from Onzow on their website stating that the claims were false and are as yet to be proven it was an Onzow that's caused the stylus deposits.Although I believed from the set off that the Onzow claims were false, for some reason I was still having a little doubt and when my stylus is over £300 to replace, I cannot afford to ignore any doubts. So seeing as my cartridge and stylus are Audio Technica, it made logical sense to seek out something by them. That's when I stumbled across the AT617a.I already own the AT607 liquid stylus cleaner, which I use as part my stylus maintenance routine and I've been very impressed and had no problems with, again despite some online claims that it can detach the diamond tip from the cantilever. The thing is, the majority of these statements (if true ( are people using the AT607 with other brands of styli.I purchased the AT617a and it's very effective. It's also somewhat cheaper than the Onzow Zero Dust, mixed with the fact it's made by the manufacturer if my cartridge and stylus, the decision is a no brainer. The pot it's contained in has a much larger diameter too and is evenly spread. If you've seen or used the Onzow, you'll realise that it can feel a little bit like target practice at times, but that's not an issue with the larger diameter AT617a.Another advantage is that if the pot of AT617a isn't quite tall enough for your stylus to be gently lowered in to, you can use the convenient screw top lid as a means to raise the height if the AT617a and for me, that brings it up to the height of the platter.I've got no concerns in recommending this to others. As with most things, I would recommend checking your stylus manufacturers details as SOME state not to use liquid or gel compound cleaners. However if you're in a quandary over Onzow, want to change from Onzow (for the reasons I mentioned above) or you have an Audio Technica stylus, this is a perfect match. If you're also an Audio Technica user, I would recommend the AT607 too. I use the AT617a after every play, be that one side of a 45 single or one side of an LP. Then, when my vinyl playing session is completed for the day, I do a final use of the AT617a and then use the AT607.Don't be put off by the small bottle the AT607 comes in, thus stuff lasta for ages! You may have other routines you use which 8s fine, but for me and my Audio Technica cartridge and stylus, this method works exceptionally well.

Buy this and AVOID THE ONZOW ZERO DUST
My ONZOW zero dust definately deposited stuff and mangled my AT microline tip which lasted less than a quarter of what it should. This little grey AT tacky gel seems alot less grabby on the needle and knowing its made by the same folks who made my cart and various needles fills me with confidence. So far so good with this. Brushing needled is for suckers!
