I was dubious about this being as good as the reviews but I should have bought one earlier. We live on a farm so get a lot of horse fly bites etc this has work every time. We will occasionally repeat it if start to itch again but it really does stop the discomfort and itch. It is not pain free to use but much better than the bite if left untreated. Also the treatment is only seconds long so very tolerable. Small and very portable. We got on sale so great value for money.

Bought while on offer for around £15 - was really good value. These do work to reduced itching from insect bites. They heat up and "cook" (denature) the proteins that the insect injects at the bite and reduce the immune reaction. Vaguely surprised that this works - but it is a CE marked medical product according to the label - so there must be some science behind it! 👍 These really do work - but you have to bear a bit of pain when using as the end does get quite hot - you need to hold this against your skin and get a mild burning sensation. This is how it works, so you have to put up with it others it won't have an effect. Does seem to work and reduce itching. Might be working through other mechanisms to reduce inflammation, such as denaturation of signalling molecules, although stuff like histamine shouldn't be affected (small molecule that is the common basis of inflammatory response). Maybe cytokines 🤷 Anyway - bottom line, take the pain and gain longer term relief 👍 Can help to reapply - hence this comment. Probably also good for those who don't like "chemicals" such as topical bite creams (antihistamines/ corticosteroids). Small, battery powered, easy to use (with a little pain!).

This product works amazingly well. I bought it for my wife for a trip to Turkey as she always has problems with the mozzies. I am so glad I did as it was my turn to be the main course. This device took the itch out of a dozen nasty bites. The machines outputs an uncomheat on the skin but it doesn't burn or hurt. The affect on the bite is immediate and the itching stops instantly. You may have to use it a few times a day but it's worth it. Tip; if you use the devise as soon as you realise you've been bitten, then you won't have to repeatedly use it as much. This would gave got 5 stars (I'd give it 10) if the build quality was better. Very light weight and flimsy. Take care when changing the battery as mine fell apart.

I have never written a review before but feel compelled for this product - how more people don’t know about it, I have no idea. I will be telling everyone I know! I have an unfortunate combination of being a mosquito’s favourite, and also having skeeter syndrome (bites which develop into huge allergic swellings). This nifty gadget has been a game changer, both for me and other members of my family (for whom bites are a lesser annoyance but nevertheless an annoyance). I have applied a treatment as soon as I notice a bite, and repeat this if the bites become itchy again. It gives immediate relief and has also prevented any of the huge swellings from developing. The bites do not disappear immediately for me, but remain minimally problematic and fade over a few days, occasionally needing an extra treatment here and there. Usually I would be itching for weeks until scars formed! This is life changing and I would recommend to anyone for whom bites are an annoyance. Worth keeping in handbag for zapping on the go!

Having tried alsorts of bite remedies in the past we bought this little gadget before going on holiday & so glad we did as we had plenty of opportunities to use it. This is the best thing we have ever used - it actually works!! You notice a bite, pop it on, repeat treatment if necessary and itch immediately gone! It does sting a little but really isn’t that bad, even on the 6 second setting. Our teen kids were a bit sceptical initially and were worried about it potentially being too painful but after overcoming that first go and realising how effective it is, they use it just as much as us if they have any insect bites. We have noticed it needs to be used immediately to be most effective- I had a bite at night & couldn’t be bothered to get the device. Treated it the next morning and was not as effective as the other bites that I treated straight away. It won’t stop the bite from “being there” but it certainly eliminates any itch or discomfort. Husband had a nasty bite that turned into a blister. He had treated this bite before it went to the blister stage and felt no itch or discomfort whatsoever. I’d had one of these blister bites before we got the gadget and had been in absolute agony with it! I can see a reviewer mistook a bite blister to be a burn - this gadget does not get hot enough to cause a burn. Some bites however will cause skin blistering. We love this gadget and wouldn’t be without it! Have recommended to friends who love it just as much as us! Best thing we’ve ever had against bites. If still in doubt google the pubmed studies on heat treatments for stings conducted by a university at German lakes.

Tried many tkmes to make the unit work. NO JOY Tried to return the unit NO JOY It does not function as described. And you CANNOT RETURN THE ITEM. Entered the returns proscess (All you get is instructions of what they think uou are doing incorrectly. WASTE OF TIME & MONEY PUE JUNK All very frustrating.

I was genuinely surprised by how well this worked. I had around 12 mosquito bites, all of which were incredibly itchy and several had swollen areas around them. I used the 3-second sensitive setting on each bite, and after just one application the urge to scratch was reduced almost completely. Normally, my bites itch the most at bedtime and again first thing in the morning, but this time I hardly noticed them at all and slept well. Around 24 hours later, the swelling had gone down, the bites were clearly healing, and the itching was minimal. If one starts to feel itchy again, I simply use the device for another quick treatment and it settles back down. For me, it has been really effective, especially as I tend to have quite strong reactions to mosquito bites. I'll definitely be using it from now on. I'll still apply an antihistamine cream if I get any swelling, but this has made a huge difference in controlling the itching and stopping me from scratching.

I think the product is faulty as it will only do 4 three second treatments before requiring new batteries. I think it needs replacing but Amazon, surprisingly, offer very little support for this product. That said, The Beurer Insect Bite Healer is great for treating bites. It is painful to use but results in bites being much less annoying. I would buy another and hope that the next is not faulty!!

Hace un tiempo que lo compre y es la mejor compra. Cuando nos pica un mosquito utilizamos esto y quita el picor. Al utilizarlo es verdad que quema un poco pero si lo aguantas funciona 100%. Recomendable

J’attire les moustiques et maringouins comme ce n’est pas possible. Je me fais beaucoup piqué et ça gratte. Je dois dire que ce petit appareil a aidé même si je ne l’ai pas utilisé immédiatement après mes piqûres (mais quand je me rendais compte que ça grattait). Pour certaines, j’ai du faire le traitement deux ou trois fois mais ça va. C’est vrai que les piqûres guérissent plus rapidement. Il faut mentionner que c’est assez douloureux. Je ne pourrais pas endurer 6 secondes, le traitement de 3 secondes s’endure mais je ne suis pas certaine qu’un jeune enfant pourrait l’endurer.

I was skeptical at first because all the sources on the biological action involved for the relief effects were commercial or commercial-sponsored sources. But I thought I'd give it a go and have been really pleased with the benefit. As a person who is prone to scratching itches from insect bites, this device has made a real difference in bringing comfort and practically eliminating my need to scratch. The light could be better as it doesn't much help with identifying the spot you're bitten. I think this leaves room for a better design but I'd rather have the light than not at all.

This thing is great. I wish I'd known about it long ago. I use it for mosquito bites, and I get my share of them since I don't like to coat myself in bug spray. The good: - it works! As it says in the instructions, it's best used immediately after a bite, but the wonderful thing about it is that it still provides itch relief (albeit temporary) for old bites. If you use it early enough, it can prevent the swelling (and itch). - I like this product way more than the Bug Bite Thing (that little suction/plunger device). The problem with the Bug Bite Thing is that you must use it very soon after being bitten. If you use it on a mosquito bite after your top layer of skin has already begun to heal, it just spreads the protein irritant under your skin and causes a much, much larger & unsightly welt. And, unfortunately, I usually cannot identify where, exactly, I've been bitten until it's too late. For that reason, my Bug Bite Thing largely collects dust in my medicine cabinet. - It heats up quickly. I thought it might take a bit of time for it to heat up and deliver a dose, but it functions in seconds. - it's FSA/HSA-eligible; that is, you can use your Flex/Health Spending Account to purchase it - it uses AAA batteries, not some weird coin/disc batteries, and they even include a couple batteries to get you started. - it's very small & portable. easily slips in your pocket. The not-so-good - there is pain involved. while you're pressing it against your skin for the 3 or 6 second treatment, it does have a bit of a stinging sensation (ironic, I know). it is unpleasant enough that I wouldn't use this on small children lest there be tears. I did spring for the model that has a built-in light, but I probably could've/should've just saved a few bucks and skipped it. The light isn't all that bright, but I guess it may be helpful if you're using this thing when it's dark outside (which I haven't done).
