Works really well. Very sturdy. Only issue is phone in not locked in, so too easy to remove.

If you have a bigger phone like the Galaxy tri-fold this is not for you. Still a really great product. They could make the clamps hold a little bit better.

This could've been great. I saw it at NAB before it was finally released. I was eager to buy it for an upcoming trip. Sadly, this case doesn't fit an iPhone 15 Pro Max with essentially any case on it. It just barely fits with no case on it. I think they purposefully made it so that it doesn't fit with any case so that people would be forced to take theirs off to get the best cooling performance and so for their ND filter attachment, sold separately (wish is lame), to fit flush. What they should've done, since it's 2026, is created their cage like their universal one, with LARGE gripping areas to hold various phones with cages. There are phone cases that are heat dissipating that would've worked perfectly with this rig, yet they don't. They note on the information that they recommend using it without a case but fail to say it can ONLY be used without a case. Even after removing the fan and trying to fit my phone with it outside of the case, it still wouldn't fit. Then, the handles. They clip on okay but are hard plastic. They feel cheap. The top of the one without the shutter button slides right out of the cold shoe. The shutter button side is good but I'm also afraid it'd easily slide out. It's fun to press though, that's for sure. The SSD holder feels cheaply made on the coldshoe end. I don't have confidence in it locking down firmly enough. The grips are nice though that is a plus. Last note, turn of the LED blue light on the fan. That drains more battery and can be a turn-off for some buyers who need to remain lowkey. They could've had this as a top-seller. Instead, it's going back and I can't recommend it at all.

Après avoir eu l'occasion d'essayer la cage "rig" pour smartphone dans le bas de la gamme de cette marque (qui m'a agréablement surpris), cette fois-ci je prend en main une cage plus haut de gamme, avec poignets orientables et refroidisseur intégré. Celui-ci est un peu bruyant, alors attention de ne pas le faire tourner trop longtemps en tournage. Côté rigidité, entre le modèle à 25€ et celui-ci autour des 160€, la différence est notable. D'une cage en plastique durcit on passe ici à de l'aluminium et ça se ressent : la cage est fine et légère et pourtant elle ne bronche pas quand on la charge ou tente de la vriller avec les mains. Le support rotatif pour le smartphone est remplacé pour un "ventirad" qui ne pivote pas. Ce sont les poignées qui se détachent et peuvent se rattacher à plusieurs endroits autour du cadre. Poignée qui peuvent être orientés dans plusieurs directions aussi et sur lesquelles on peut installer un déclencheur bluetooth fournis. Smallrig montre encore une fois qu'il sait y faire dans les accessoires photos en proposant ici un produit vraiment intéressant pour ceux qui veulent faire de la photo/vidéo depuis son smartphone.

Hier stimmt wirklich alles. Die Smallrig Handyhalterung kommt in einer hochwertig Tasche. Sowohl das Gestell, in das man das Handy einsetzt als auch die Griffe sind sicher verstaut. Mit den Griffen führt man das Handy deutlich stabiler und flexibler als wenn man das Handy nur in der Hand hält. Mega Pluspunkt ist darüber hinaus, dass man mit Kaltschuh Halterungen noch Mikro oder Videoleucht am Rig anschließen kann. EInfach super!

Esto es una opinión honesta y basada en mi experiencia. Las fotos, datos y descripción del anunciante son fieles a la realidad. Este kit de SmallRig me parece de lo más inteligente que han hecho últimamente. Llevaba un tiempo buscando una solución real para poder grabar con el móvil sin tener que estar pendiente de si se calienta, si tengo batería suficiente, si me da estabilidad o si puedo conectarle lo que necesito. Y con esto lo han resuelto prácticamente todo. Desde el punto de vista profesional, que es desde donde hablo porque me dedico a esto, es un sistema que convierte el teléfono en una herramienta de grabación perfectamente funcional para situaciones exigentes. No estamos hablando de un soporte con forma de jaula para poner el móvil y ya está, sino de una estructura pensada de verdad para trabajar. La construcción está muy cuidada, con un cuerpo robusto pero ligero que aguanta bien, se agarra mejor todavía y permite trabajar sin estar pendiente de que se te vaya de las manos o se deslice en mitad de una toma. La pinza sujeta el móvil con seguridad, aunque aquí sí tengo un pequeño matiz: si usas un iPhone Pro Max con funda, probablemente tengas que quitarla para que encaje bien. En mi caso no entra con la funda puesta, la pinza va demasiado justa. En mi caso ahora tengo el Iphone 17 Pro Max, pero hasta hace poco tenía el 13 Pro Max y me pasaba lo mismo, puesto que son tamaños similares. Sé que SmallRig tiene fundas dedicadas a cada modelo con la posibilidad de ponerle empuñaduras y demás. Pero es otro concepto. Y es que dicho este detalle de la funda, la intención de este modelo es refrigerar el smartphone (luego lo explico mejor) y obviamente con la funda puesta no sería posible. Sin embargo en ocasiones en las que sabes que no necesitas dicha refrigeración, hubiera estado bien ese margen para poner y quitar con rapidez el móvil sin necesidad de quitarle la funda. Y como explicaba, yendo más a este detalle, lo más importante y por lo que para mí este sistema tiene sentido es por el sistema de refrigeración activa. Funciona, y lo hace muy bien. Tiene tres niveles de potencia y es capaz de mantener el teléfono en una temperatura estable incluso grabando en 4K durante más de 40 minutos. Y es que realmente enfría. Si has grabado en exteriores o en sesiones largas, sabes perfectamente lo que supone que se corte una grabación por sobrecalentamiento. Esto lo elimina. El ventilador no es completamente silencioso, pero no es molesto. Hay que tener cuidado si grabas con micros omnidireccionales o muy cerca del conjunto, porque puede colarse el ruido, pero si usas micrófonos inalámbricos o bien orientados no deberías tener problema. Sí necesita alimentación externa para funcionar y eso hay que tenerlo en cuenta. El hub USB-C 4 en 1 que incluye permite conectar simultáneamente el móvil, un SSD, un micro y controlar el audio, pero no es perfecto. Si conectas todo a la misma batería puedes tener inestabilidad, sobre todo si estás tirando a la vez del ventilador y del SSD. Lo que hago es alimentar el ventilador por separado si sé que voy a grabar sesiones largas. Para alguien que se dedica al vídeo esto es más una cuestión de gestión del setup que un problema. Lo bueno es que puedes ponerle tu propio hub si te convence más otro. La base es lo suficientemente flexible para montarte el sistema como quieras. El agarre es excelente. Las empuñaduras laterales permiten grabar de manera muy estable, incluso en movimiento. Una de ellas tiene disparador bluetooth, lo que facilita mucho la operativa si estás grabando solo. Todo se siente sólido y bien resuelto. El diseño incluye muchas roscas y zapatas para montar micro, luz, monitor, lo que necesites, sin inventos raros. Aparte, se agradece que venga con una funda con compartimentos bien pensados para llevarlo todo recogido y no tener que estar buscando piezas sueltas. He probado bastantes cosas de SmallRig y en general me gusta cómo piensan sus accesorios, pero este me ha sorprendido especialmente por el enfoque tan claro al creador que graba en serio con el móvil. Y digo en serio porque si solo haces stories o vídeos rápidos no necesitas esto. Pero si haces entrevistas, directos, reportajes o cualquier cosa que requiera fiabilidad, calidad de imagen y control, sí. Muy contento. Lo recomendaría sin dudarlo a cualquiera que esté usando el móvil como cámara principal o secundaria para grabación profesional o semiprofesional.

I liked the look of a filming cage, so the chance to try this SmallRig kit to sort out my mobile video setup was great, and it has genuinely sorted out a massive headache for me with its versatility. I usually take it along to my daughter's weekend football matches to film the games, and I also use it for doing live streams for my local business. The functionality on this thing is brilliant because it completely solves that annoying problem of the phone overheating and dimming the screen when you are recording in 4K for too long. The cooler keeps everything running perfectly smooth. Having the USB hub right there means I can plug in my external microphone and a battery pack at the same time without wires dangling everywhere. The wireless control on the handle is a proper bonus too, making it easy to start recording without faffing about touching the screen. The build quality feels incredibly robust. It is made of proper, rugged materials that feel like they can take a bit of a battering in the gear bag. The quick removable handles lock into place nicely and give you a really steady, balanced grip, which completely gets rid of that shaky handheld look. For the price, the value is excellent. If you bought a decent cooling fan, a cage, a hub, and proper grips separately, you would end up spending a fortune and it would be a right mess to assemble. This gives you everything in one neat package. If you are serious about getting proper video quality out of your mobile, this is a worthwhile bit of kit.
