This an be easily rectified by using the hose from your vacuum cleaner and cleaning around the outside of the alarm. It would even go off when nothing was there to make it go off. It was brand new but went in the bin, **Q: Can i use glue to stick onto the ceiling? i am unable to remove my magnet, and need to reposition this elsewhere! thanks** A: My device is attached to a back plate which is screwed to the ceiling.
