Faber-Castell F110012 Polychromos Color Pencil Set, Blue, 12 Pieces

Exceedingly vibrant and versatile pigments, tough and durable leads, and lend themselves beautifully to mixed media experiments. I don't like using erasers most of the time, but they still erase smoothly and cleanly. The colour range might feel restrictive at first glance in this set of 12, but there's actually a lot of room for colour mixing, layering, and shading. It's quite competent with any form and weight of (white) paper (haven't tried this with toned paper yet), laying down the same uniform texture and no loss of pigment. I'd recommend this to anyone, no question about it.

Amazing texture & pigments

Wonderful colour pencils. Absolutely worth it if you like drawing and colouring and shading. I bought the 12 pencil set to try them out. Smooth as butter on the paper and also work very well under and over watercolours.

I am truely beginner for using the pencils, but this has been a really fun using these pencils as they are vivid and highly pigmented in nature. They shine and blend very well. The only thing is required a lot of practice to get the desired results and you need patience with the pencils as they are hard and techniques to use them is going from light shade to dark shade and putting layers and layers. In that way they do not get smudged. But, the guide book which comes with the colors should contain the knowledge about mixing colors to produce a different color. So, u need to produce colors by experiments. As comparing with the Derwent vex based pencils, they are very different and stay sharp and long time. No need to sharpen frequently. The have become my facourite. The price u pay for them is really fade in front of the quality of these pencils. One and last thing u can use the paraffin oil like baby oil for smooth blending.

These pencils are very good to use, can give you different grading upon the pressure you apply while using. I really love them. Also they do not break when sharpened. I prefer polychromos over prismacolor but polychromos can be hard to blend, you've to apply a lot of pressure to get a smooth gradient. Also remember to use a paper over of 100 gsm so that the paper won't wrinkle when you layer.

I had heard a lot about polychromos and wanted one to be honest all the reviews i had watched before buying this product had me hyped up for and when i got them it was just as it was said soft but really awesome for fine art ,holds a sharp point and i havent yet faced any lead breakage unlike prismacolor. But yes do bear in mind these are high artist grade pencils and are oil based not wax based that makes a lot of difference like there is no wax blooming i was able to apply 8 layers of color and my art probably could have taken more they are just the best

These coloured pencils really are worth the extra money over cheaper options. This is my second set of these pencils and I couldn't be happier with the purchases. Presentation The Pencils just look premium as soon as you see them or pick them up. They come in a metal tin, giving beautiful presentation and a professional look. Quality The quality of the pencils is of a very high standard, when you move up from buying Caryola coloured pencils to these, you can really see why they cost that little bit extra. The pencils also sharpen very well, I haven't had any breaks in the lead. Usage The pencils are Polychromos - for those of you who aren't massively 'into' art and different types of pencils, this basically means they are blendable. They produce very vivid colours - even more so when colours are added on top of one another to produce layers making the colour stand out on the page. I would highly recommend these pencils to anyone looking for a more professional or quality set. The range of colours provided is sufficient for a beginner like me.

Great Product, absolutely love using these pencils, especially because they aren't as soft as my caran d'ache set and so are great for the details bits and so work really well in unison with my other colour pencil sets!

Me compré la caja de 12 a mitad de precio para probarlos y estoy encantada. Ya habría probado los goldfaber y no tienen nada que envidiarles a estos pero estos tienen mayor capacidad para hacer capas y conseguir los tonos que queremos. Con solo doce colores puedes conseguir un montón de efectos y colores mezclándolos mediante capas finas y el blanco es perfecto para fundir los colores y que quede totalmente uniforme. Los recomiendo a todo el mundo pero especialmente a profesionales o gente que vaya un poco avanzada en la materia y pueda sacarles todo el partido que merecen.
