I was really excited how light and sensitive it felt and was equally excited to retire my 33 year old Allstar flipping stick that was feeling a little to heavy in my old age. In late June '23 I treated myself to a day of flipping hydrilla and jerking bass. The rod was great until I swung the second six pounder into the boat and the rod snapped. My day was over and I headed to the house, being assured by my good fishing buddies that Dobyns would take care of the rod. The story didn't exactly end like that. After speaking with a rep at Dobyns, I was encouraged to send the rod in for inspection. $35 shipping cost and I get a call telling me that the rod was stressed beyond it's capability and that the new rods have less graphite in them, making them lighter and more sensitive but not as strong. Not covered by warranty but they would replace it for $60 + $30 shipping. So much for a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Their warranty should be termed a REPLACEMENT POLICY. Unhappy fisherman! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best spinning rod for frogging *by E***I on October 4, 2024* Hasnt done me wrong yet. Ive landed some big pike to my PB bass on this rod. Has lasted me a whole season of froggin which says a lot. Im hard on my rods. UDPATE: . If you fish in heavy heavy cover id go with the champion xp. But if you want to save a few bucks you can still get it done with the sierra. Both rods are perfect if you can't give up spinning reels but still want to throw topwater. My biggest problem with the Sierra is when you have a big fish you can feel the reel almost wobble a tad. as if it's not locked down all the way, its a tad uncomfortable and distracting. I even changed reels to to see if it was that but I don't think that's the case.
