Troxel Intrepid Saddle Horse Riding Helmet, Low-Profile Adjustable Design, Safety Horseback Riding Gear

This is a great Troxel helmet! I had older Troxel helmets years ago and wanted an updated version, so chose this model after reading about the different styles. The Intrepid is so nice and lightweight and very comfortable to wear. I measured my head as directed and chose the corresponding size on the chart, and the fit is perfect. I like the self adjusting band at the back of the neck on this style. Since I have not ridden in summer yet with this helmet, I cannot speak to how well it cools my head! I'm very happy with the looks, fit, and light weight of this helmet.

I am a novice rider and this is my first helmet. The SureFit Pro system works well and the helmet was very comfortable. The helmet is light and cool, The magnetic clasp was easy to use, and made the helmet easy to put on and take off. If you are anywhere close to the border between different sizes, I would advise getting the larger size. I was close to the large size, and I ordered a large rather than the medium and it fit perfectly. You can use the Flipfold side tabs to snug up the fit if needed.

I needed a helmet that I could wear for lessons as well as shows. This is helmet is great! It fits nicely and isn't as super hot in our Arkansas summers as some are. I've received numerous compliments on it too. My only complaint is that after a while it does get a little scratched up...but not something you'd be able to see from a distance. UPDATE: I recently suffered a fall from a horse that bolted. While I did end up with a broken ankle, this helmet did an excellent job of protecting my head during the rolling and impact following the fall. I suffered no injuries to my head and was glad to be wearing a helmet. Troxel makes excellent products and I would highly recommend this or any of their other helmets.

It didn't make my head look huge like most other helmets! I have a more oval shape head and my Tipperary tends to put a lot of pressure on my forehead, this dosnt! My head is 22" and I ordered a medium which was perfect. I bordered on going smaller but Im glad I didn't. Its a Mat finish with off set colored petals, cute but professional enough. The fact that there isn't a dial to tighten actually made it easier and I felt that it was much more comfortable. The only thing I would change is that it isn't cut high enough around the ears so I have to kinda situate the tops of my ears when I put it on. Something that I quickly got use to and dont even think about it after 2 seconds. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars

This helmet was mid priced compared to riding helmets out there. It has the MIPS tech which was new when I bought - and I have to say, I'm pretty sure that MIPS tech saved my life last year on a bad fall. Helmet was in one piece, no cracks and only damage was visor broke off. The color is great. Its a comfortable and breathable helmet that is adjustible. I'm going to get a second in a different color so I have a back up or can just switch out. Also, I can attach my go pro to it with not issues in fit.

I got this helmet in carbon for my 18 year old for riding. Head measurement (23 3/4 inches) which was extra large helmet size (we used the size chart at Troxel web site to convert head measurement circumference across the forehead above eyebrows). The XL in the Intrepid was a great fit.(Note: There is no wheel adjuster at the back base of this style helmet; you can tighten the inside liner with two slide buckles and fold up or down the inner flat side pads for a snugger fit.) Highly recommend this helmet.

I was involved in a serious riding accident this past fall and basically landed head and face first into the ground from a canter after my horse stumbled. The helmet I had been wearing was another Troxel and I credit it with saving my life. I needed to replace it since the helmet took the impact and decided to purchase this one. It fits great! I love the way that it custom adjusts to fit your head and was super comfortable to ride in. And doesn't even mess my hair up too badly. Hopefully I never experience another fall quite like that but I would purchase another one of these if I did.
