it's great for light duty work.
I was a baker for 20 years. This tool is not for heavy duty work like in a bakery. the lock is weak. the spread will move on you very easy. BUT, for the money, this is a great light duty tool. But with all that said. If you work in a small diner that makes their own pies from scratch, (like me these days) This is the tool for you. If you make pies and such at home, this is the tool for you. Its a great tool for pie lattice, thats all i ever used these for. Sorry for the grammar. lol Have a great day all

Decent for making strips
I needed it for work. It's not the best quality- the screw doesn't keep it in place, doesn't cut through the soft dough unless it is really thin. But it works well enough and was decently priced. It'll at least give you lines so you can make even cuts. You just have to make sure you hold it so it doesn't expand or shrink.

Works like a charm
I always wanted one of these ever since I worked in food service when in college. This fit the bill and works great for making even bar cookies and cake.

Not a good product
Adjustments screw lousy. Will not tighten. Cutting wheels not very sturdy . Wobbles and make cutter very unstable.

Very wobbly wheels
The good: The expanding mechanism works fine. It's simple and seems sturdy enough. Basically, one screw can be loosened in order to increase or decrease the distance between the cutter wheels, and then you tighten the screw again to make sure the wheel stay at the distance you want. The bad: There is a HUGE amount of wobble in the cutter wheels, almost 1/4 inch! That's immense! If this had just one wheel, I don't think you could depend on it even to cut a pizza. Because of the wobble, not only do the wheels not cut straight lines, they also don't make proper contact with the hard surface under the dough, which means you have to make the cuts more than once. Of course this is a problem, too, because a wobbly cutter makes it difficult to go over the same cuts twice. I made croissants with this, which was a big mistake. They came out a lot messier looking than was aceptable, even after I had to try to fix the cuts manually before rolling them up. Overall: If you're willing to accept a wide amount of variance in the precision and pressure of your cuts, this might work for you. There's no way it would work for me. I am sending it back.

don't over-tighten the lock screw or it will strip
I use this gadget to cut out my dumplings when I make chicken and dumplings and it works great and saves a lot of time.
