Drycast Cast Comfort Itch and Odor Relief Spray

“It was amazing it worked amazing” those were the words of my daughter who is currently in a cast due to a fractured ankle.

this product is amazing. Pros: definitely stops the itch, cooling feeling, quick dry, easy to use, life saver, good for sensitive skin. Cons: tricky to get the clear extension tube attached to the spray nozzle (especially with a broken hand, really need two hands to connect it) as others have mentioned. Other notes: - it does provide some momentary moisture which is technically against the casting rules, but it dries very quickly/the cast cotton tends to absorb it fine without impacting the fiberglass material. - leaves a light power residue which was a bit odd to see during the cast removal, so would recommend using a long itching stick to clear out the residue every now and then to prevent residue build-up. - i have EXTREMELY sensitive skin but this product worked extremely well and would recommend/gift it to anyone that is newly placed in a cast.

My 9 year-old broke her arm and the first couple nights in her cast were filled with tears. She's a strong girl, but the persistent itching was just too much for her to sleep. Tapping on the cast to help with the itching only worked for a minute or so and it would just come back. In an effort to do something, I bought this product and it was a life saver. I don't know if it's the product itself or if it's psychosomatic or both, but it does the trick. A short burst of the spray cools the area and makes the itching stop for a notable while. I read a few of the reviews about issues with inserting the tube into the can, so I was prepared for issues if they came up. Although the tube is a really tight fit, it did ultimately go in with some effort. It reminded me of trying to insert the little red tube in a can of WD-40 back in the day. It will take a firm grip and some strength, but it should go in.

I am currently in a cast because I broke my ankle and the itching has been driving me crazy so I decided to give this a try. The can comes with a handy straw that is about a foot long that makes applying the product deep inside the cast much easier and also doubles as a scratcher! It definitely helps at preventing itching and even stops itching in progress but does take a minute or two to eliminate the itch. For anyone who knows the torture of an itch that cant be scratched, a minute is eternity! There is no odor and it does a great job at keeping moisture out and preventing odors from building up. So far I have applied it about 2 dozen times and I still have about half the can left! Wish they came in bigger sizes because I think I'm going to have to buy a second one.

This is not worth the price. It’s essentially just athletes foot spray with a straw. Maybe $15/can might be worth it, but I feel they’re marking it up because it claims to be “special cast spray” Honestly, the scratcher we bought elsewhere that you can attach baby wipes to works far batter for cleaning and odor control. My son said it provided some itching and cooling relief, but it did nothing for odor. All that said, check the ingredients. Do you really wanna be spraying a bunch of gasoline (ethanol), butane, propane, baking soda, and cat pee (urea) down a confined space like a cast and have those chemicals sit on your kids skin for weeks on end? I wish I would have read the ingredients first. After 4 weeks the can is still almost full. Would not recommend

Gave my daughter instant relief

I recently tried this product and I have mixed feelings about it. The scent was quite pleasant, which was a positive aspect. However, I found that the tube provided with the product was not very user-friendly. In order to spray the product deep into the cast, I had to hold the tube up to the nozzle, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, this limited the range of motion for the targeted areas that needed to be reached. If the tube were made attachable, it would greatly improve the usability of this product. Despite the drawbacks, I would consider purchasing it again if this improvement were made.

Kiddo keeps getting itch attacks inside the cast on his arm. According to him, this spray is the only thing that relieves the itch. Brilliant how it comes with a thin tube that let’s the spray get further down the cast. We showed it to the surgeons, they didn’t mind him using it at all. The only downside is that it only works for a few moments after spraying. In our case, this has been enough curb every attack. So far, we went through 3 of them and just ordered one more for the last week. Grateful.
