Santa brought this item to help the basketball stay on our driveway and not roll down the hill where it tends to be muddy. Our goal is actually made by Goliath, but this Goalrilla product still works. Our post is only 4x4", but I just added a 1" block of wood on two sides and the included 5x5" bracket system works just fine. It's very sturdy and this is a really well-built product. Installation was fairly easy (took me about an hour by myself) and the instructions were reasonably clear. I think this net will last for a long time. The only wish my kids had is that if you have a muddy spot directly under the backboard (like where the main post is in the ground), the net seems to drop the ball right there. So, you made an alternative to help the ball roll back onto your driveway instead of the grass/mud. But, overall, a great product.

Excellent for 4 inch square systems as well!
We have a spalding 4 inch square in ground pole system. This was easy to attach and it is very easy to use. Although it is designed for a 5 or 6 inch pole, we had no problems at all adding this to our 4 inch pole. It is stable and does what it claims...keeps the ball on the court and not on my landscape! Great purchase and it is being used..A LOT.Update: We have never taken the guard down. It was been through all of the many changes in NE PA weather. It honestly looks and functions like it's brand new! We still love it.

This works great and and is a high quality product.
This works great and is a high-quality product. It helps block the basketball from going into our yard. My son loves it. It has good length and height so that it protects the ball from going into the yard. It was so easy for me and my son to assemble. It works so good. Goalrilla is a great brand it this is another great product by them. It also came with a bonus little pad. The net is very strong. Very high quality metal for the poles. I recommend this to anyone who has the same problem as I did.

A win!
We’ve had this net for a few months and it has held up wonderfully. Through cold, insane heat, and crazy rain/wind storms, it has budged or broken. My husband installed and said it was a bit more complicated than expected but not complicated enough to reduce star rating. My son loves it and I love that balls are no longer banging into our privacy fence- a win!

Good product, broken piece, waiting on customer service response
Good net but had a product defect failure with a rod that snapped causing one side of the net to hang low in the grass

No more worrying about the neighbors cars
We recently installed a Goalrilla hoop and the kids lauch balls from across the driveway only to airball it out and the ball takes off right next to the neighbors driveway and of course the cars are parked right in the direction the balls go. After the second observed "event", I urgently went looking for something and was lucky to find this. Overall the construction seems fine and the netting seem heavy duty. It goes up and down pretty easy although the kids need help unstrapping the top two straps but not a big deal. Installation was pretty straight forward and I did it myself using one of those adjustable ladders. I now have no more worries about one of the kids clobbering the cars and dealing with that. Overall, I do think it's a bit overpriced for what you get and all the extra brackets they provide seem wasteful as they just hit the trash and I am sure that adds to the cost.

Worth every penny
If you are replacing an outside court or have an existing court this is a must. I have a planter with flowers and plants and it protects them.

The item is *not* easy to install
I installed the Guard on our Silverback 60" glass backboard on Christmas Day with my two sons. The item is *not* easy to install, even with three people. While the printed instructions are clear enough, the problem is that the pieces in the box ar not numbered to correspond with the instructions, making some of the installation a bit of guess work. We had to un-install two steps, having realized that things had been done incorrectly. The unit fits okay for us. We cannot figure out how to get the top left and right corners to extend fully, nor the bottom left and right corners - so right now the net coverage is less than it should be. I'm actually quite surprised at how little horizontal coverage you get with the net. As intalled now, we probably get no more than nine feet of linear, horizontal coverage - 4.5' on either side of the backboard. The unit is well made - solid - nicely painted/ powder coated. The netting itself seems to be well made and should stand up for a while. The straps for connecting the net to the pole are wide and solid. Everything is nicely made.Overall - if you have a Gorilla pole you may be in better shape than we are. If not, you'll have to take your chances. After three days of use it does it's job fairly well - it saved my neighbors bushes a few times.....If the instructions were clearer, and it fit better on non-Gorilla poles, I'd give it a higher review. On overall value - I think it's high priced for what it is... but if you need one to protect your kids or your beds, it may help.
