It seems sturdy for general usage (obviously, it can't compete with metal build in terms of sturdiness.) The compass works well. There is no/negligible movement of the leg without turning the screw. The case is of average quality. Cost-wise, I feel the price is little bit higher than expected for the plastic build. Some minor issues: - The locking mechanism of case got worn out in very short time. - The case as shown in the picture can only accommodate the compass when both leads are set to the single lead/point type.
