If you are careful with the box it arrived in, everything should fit back into the thin plastic tray for storage. The only downside to the packaging is that it is a bit flimsy and little hands may rip the box or the thin plastic insert that holds the pieces making it impossible to neatly store everything away. We really enjoyed this game and the kids insisted on taking it home. Lots of fun - I would definitely buy more for gifts.
