Tough beautiful watch
I purchased this watch in 2020 and it still looks and works great. I purchased my first black plastic square G-Shock in 1985 that got me through high school and college. Always been a fan of square G-shocks but I wanted to get away from black plastic digital watches. This watch fits the bill perfectly. However, it’s a blessing and a curse. You can wear this watch at work or play. However, it is very shiny so scratches show up easily and overall this watch is a scratch magnet. I recommend that you purchase polishing cloths to help polish the fine scratches out. As far as the top of the bezel, in the course of my five year ownership, I have removed the bezel twice to restore the brushed finish on top. Just used a fine scotchbrite pad to do this with the bezel face down. Looks new after I do this. Other than being a scratch magnet, the watch is tough and beautiful. Being solar and having Bluetooth is an added bonus. No regrets with my purchase.

Only for Casio fans
I love this watch. But only a handful of people would pay almost $400 for a digital watch. I love the screen. It is easier to read from many more angles than something like me Casio G-Shock GW-5000U-1JF. So yes, that is a big part of why I bought it. The bracelet is very good quality. It feels like I am wearing an expensive watch, not a cheap digital watch made out of resin. I like that it has Bluetooth so I can sync up the exact time every day. Does it do much more than a G-Shock 5610? No, not really. Is it worth spending so much? Yes, for a Casio geek like me. Is it a watch to buy to show off? No, because few people will know that you spent so much. It is a watch that looks really cool and that only you and some other watch geeks will appreciate.

One of nicest watches I have
Dear Casio, This is my first GShock that’s all digital with a metal bracelet. I ordered it less than a week ago and received it on July 4th which was a nice surprise. This is NOT my first GShock but my first GShock that has a metal band, digital, and with radio receptors. My previous gshocks were not this nice. I am able to sync my watch with my iPhone 13Pro and it also can sync with radio frequency’s so it’s always got the correct time and I never have to worry about it. The fact that this watch is solar powered is awesome. This is my second Gshock that is solar powered. This means I never have to worry about it running low on battery although the battery powered ones have lasted me years without replacing the battery. I have a mud master that has a compass and it could measure your footsteps but that’s ok. Watches like this one isn’t meant to be used for that. This watch can be dressed up or down. I plan on wearing this watch for just about everything. I am used to using Analog watches. Every watch I have, Movado and Bulova are all analog watches. My gshocks are all digital and analog. This is the first all digital watch that I have and it took a little to get used to but it’s a great watch. I have been wanting a GShock watch like this for a long time but the prices were always too high for me. I received several Amazon Gift cards from my job totaling $160 and I used it to buy this watch and I am so glad that I did. Outside of my Goodyear welted heritage boots from Grant Stone this is one of the best investments I have ever made. My other GShock that is solar powered was bought back in 2016 and it’s still working well and hasn’t missed a beat. I wanted a watch that could go with a suit and tie or can be dressed down. My other gshocks all have a rubber band which will not look right if I wear a dress shirt and a tie. The watch face is a bit on the smaller side compared to my other gshocks and it is quite heavy but it is very comfortable to wear all day every day. One really cool feature this watch has is that you can connect to your iPhone so if you ever misplace your iPhone you can activate a button on this watch and it will play a sound in the phone loudly so you can find it if you’re in the same area or room. Haven’t tested the range of the “phone finder” but it is super loud for the most part. The one thing that I don’t really like about the watch is that the metal band is super shiny like chrome and I can tell it will scratch easily. It’s ok though because it’s like patina on leather boots. Scratches on gshocks are like a badge of honor to me. I do like keeping my stuff in pristine shape so I did buy a glass screen protector and installed it on the display so the screen will never get scratched. I do this with almost every watch that I have except for my other gshocks. I work from home now A days so I’m not going to be hard on the watch but I want to make sure it’s protected in the event I have to do something rough. I am confident this watch will last me a few decades which makes this watch a worthy investment. To me, this square metal gshock style will always be “in style” so I don’t have to worry about replacing it for whatever reason. This will be my everyday watch as it can do just about everything a watch needs to do. Thanks in advance! Edit: I’ve had this watch a few days and it’s awesome. I really think I did a good job in picking this watch. It is everything you could ever need from a watch. I was never a big fan of the square watch face but I am a fan now. I haven’t worn it dressed up but I don’t see why I couldn’t wear a suit or tie and this watch. It has all the functionality that I need. It’s got solar, multi-band 6 (which means I’m always on time), bluetooth, and a positive display. It’s got all the features I need except for a compass, heart rate monitor, and a step counter which would be nice to have but I understand this watch isn’t made to have them. It took me a while to get used to reading the watch because I’m used to analog/digital watches but I’m getting the hang of it. I was not a big fan of the square but I’m starting to love it each and every day. If you’re listening Casio, please put a compass, heart rate monitor, and step counter in this type of watch. It would make this watch a force to be reckoned with! I just love this watch and already looking for my next metal gshock.

If I only owned one watch...
If I only owned one watch this would be a top choice. It took about a week & a half sitting on my windowsill to charge the battery to full but once it was full it's stayed that way from wearing normally. I turned off the synchronization for 30 days to see how accurate the actual watch was & it gained about three seconds. Where I live, it can catch the signal from the atomic clock in Colorado if the weather's good but that doesn't happen everyday. The Bluetooth sync does work at 12:30 am & pm so twice a day. Very visible face & easy to read. I've had several compliments on how nice it looks as well. My other Casio is a 10 year old wave ceptor solar that's still running fine & still picks up the atomic clock signal almost daily as well. It has an acrylic crystal with a bunch of scratches so I thought it was time for a new one. This one has hardened glass that should hold up even better. And for toughness: it's a G-Shock; nuff said. Maybe in another 10 years I'll start thinking about a new one. I do have one complaint. It has an alarm function but the alarm is so quiet it's pretty much useless. In the reading I've done about it, that's a drawback of the steel case. I've never had a functional alarm on a watch anyway so it isn't something I'll miss; I turned it off. Unlike most of the mid or higher end G-Shocks this one is small enough it fit under a sleeve & doesn't look big at all on me. Very comfortable to wear every day. It's not cheap but as a friend of mine often says: buy quality or buy often. If it lasts as long as my old Wave Ceptor I'll consider it money well spent. I also meant to say I ordered it on a Tuesday & it was delivered to me that Friday; from Japan! Hard to beat shipping like that. As others have said, the bracelet links are quite easy to remove/replace for sizing since they're held by spring bars. All you need is a small pin long enough to push the spring bar in & pop the link out just like removing a band on most watches.

Love the new watch
Feels great on the wrist. Not too heavy, even though it's all metal. Looks fantastic. Very easy to read the time and it's very easy to setup with the mobile app. It was very easy to take a couple links out of the band to get it to fit. I consider my wrist size to be fairly big, but I still removed 4 links. I have a couple different G-Shock watches... not as light as the non-metal watches. This could definitely be used a dress up watch.

G-Shock all metal
The watch is well built, feels and looks great. Of course it is accurate being radio controlled. A couple of things buyers should know: In dim light the display is hard to read without using the built in light. The built in light uses more battery power which means you should check the power reserve. This however can only be done on the paired phone. The Bluetooth connection terminates after about 2 min so every time you want to check the battery you have to pair it again. There is no power reserve indicator on the watch itself. On the phone the power reserve indicator displays 5 bars for a full charge. To charge the watch to full power it is recommended to expose it to direct sunlight. This is hard to do when it is cold and rainy. I have positioned the watch right by a window for 24 hours and it has not moved past 3 bars which the watch had when I received it. My watch came from Japan, so the included instruction manual was in Japanese and unusable!! Had to download the English version online. Fitting the watch band to the wrist is easy once you figure out how to do it. Nothing in the instruction manual. Unlike most watch bands of this sort the one on this watch has double spring-loaded pins. With a small screwdriver or watch pin tool you have to press the spring and twist out the link. Not hard but don't let the pin go flying through the room. After fitting, the watch wears very comfortably despite its hefty weight. Like it a lot.

Fantastic watch
This is a great watch if you are a Casio fan. Its a bit pricey for the value as you can get a decent smart watch for this price. Comes with all basic features and you can use GPS to pin location when your watch is synced with the G-shock app. I have trouble with the Casio Watches app as Im not able to login. There are issues there with the app. The watch itself is very nice. If you want this watch for your collection then you are ok to get it!
