## Overview

The SNAREWEIGHT M80 is a premium, USA-made leather drum tone control damper featuring a patented magnetic clip that fits most metal hoops. It offers four distinct dampening settings—mild, medium, heavy, and off—allowing drummers to tailor their snare resonance without sacrificing brightness. Designed for durability and dynamic play, the M80’s unique leather wings lift on harder hits to open the sound, making it a must-have for professional drummers seeking versatile, travel-ready tone control.

## Description

After years of continuous development, since 2009, with the patented solid brass Snareweight #1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, we are proud to keep rockin the Snareweight M80 (medium to heavy dampening). The M80 genuine leather damper is engineered to control the resonance without sacrificing the brightness of the drum. It's also designed to have some movement so the drum sound opens up when it is played harder- this is by design. With harder playing, the rise of the leather wings lift, letting the full volume of your drum open up, then the leather comes to rest back down to dampen. One M80 has 4 different dampening settings: mild, medium, , heavy and off. Remember the M80 fits any drum size;(8",9,10,12,13,14 etc.) It also presents some weight on the head (more than tape, plastic etc) which helps shorten the low frequency decay while keeping the drum bright and real. Dampen in a snap or disengage even faster with the on/off feature. If you want a dead drum, this one is NOT for you. Works with triple flange hoops, die cast, angel hoops, true hoops, brass hoops, and 1/4" wood hoops. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR S-HOOPS or Tama Arc Hoops. Leather thickness does vary between 1.5mm to 2mm. Review: Seriously great product for every drummer - This snareweight works perfectly. I’ve always used moon gel’s that seemed great, but had issues with either staying attached to the head or just getting gross and wearing out. Or you had to use multiple ones to achieve certain sounds. This product just works and is adjustable to create different levels of dampening just through different folds using the magnets. It stays in place and creates awesome consistency in the sound. Don’t hesitate. Buy one.
Review: GREAT product. Works exactly the way they described - I love it...it's that simple. After years of using all the dampening methods that everyone else has used, it's really nice to have a quality product. I'm at a point now to where I can use high-end snares. And, there's nothing worse than using a cheap product on a $1K (give or take) snare. So, now I can have a "proper" dampening product that's as versatile as the snare's themselves. And, it looks classy....that's always a nice bonus. Yes, it's more expensive, but well worth it. Well done!

It just saved the snare in my studio. It had a bad ringing moongels couldn't solve. Got the M80, and it solved it, and saved the drum sound in my studio and the metal recordings I made after installing it.
