Excellent Product & Top Tier Customer Support
The Hiboy S2 is an excellent scooter that provides top tier bang for your buck - I've been able to save a ton of money and time commuting with it, especially with current gas prices. The scooter is well balanced and both acceleration and braking are consistent, effective, and doesn't feel inadequate. The app is simple but functional with no bugs that I could see. More importantly, Hiboy's customer service is above and beyond any other that I've seen. Earlier this year, I was involved in an incident (not my fault) which damaged the scooter significantly. I thought the scooter was done for, but Nancy at the Hiboy support team kindly took my information request, sent it to their technical team, and figured out what parts needed replacing and sent them to me for free! They also sent me instructions on how to repair the scooter, and with that key support, I'm now back up and running on my Hiboy S2. Excellent company, excellent product, excellent customer support. My next scooter will be a Hiboy.

Very happy with this company !
3rd update: 14 months after purchase. I had an accident with this scooter and the throttle broke. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement and they offered to send me both the throttle and the broke. Phone holder, free of charge. Great customer service! 2nd update 4 months after purchase: I have to revise my review of this company once again. They are TOP in customer satisfaction, response, problem solving and inquiries. The scooter rides great, looks great and has a long battery life. Maybe in future they will reconsider the closure hook and use a better design there. They seem to be really focussed on their product and their customers so I believe they will continue improving over time. UPDATE: The company "HiBoy" has been very open and eager to resolve our issues (below) and very supportive. For that reason I am happy to change my overall rating to 4 Stars (****) increased from 3. This is a lovely scooter. Stylish, easy to use, solid tires (no flats!), disk brake, great lights, fast. However there are two extremely important design drawbacks: UPDATE: Point 1 below is more of a dumb design but Point 2 below remains an important drawback. 1. The body of the scooter does not have any place where a lock can be passed through to securely lock the scooter outside if necessary. UPDATE: After some research apparently it is possible to lock the scooter around the body just behind the front wheel (on the angled part). Provided that the lock is tight enough to the body that the scooter body or stem/headset can't be passed through the lock and removed, it is pretty secure. We have not tried this yet. and….relating to the above and to the idea that there is no way to lock it up outside…. 2. When we fold the scooter and clip the top to the rear fender, the “clip” in fact is an open hook which catches a spring action loop built into the rear fender. As long as you keep tension on that hook (ie by holding the scooter from that portion), the loop stays in the hook. As soon as the stem of the scooter relaxes toward the body, the hook falls out of the loop and the scooter opens up (“flops” open). Given that the scooter is about 30lbs, it is reasonable that a normal person would occasionally “rest” the folded scooter while carrying it. But if s/he does, the scooter will awkwardly fall open and potentially cause damage or physical injury. So where we ourselves really wanted to have a scooter that folded up for ease of transportation, it’s not well designed for that at all. I anticipate our finding another way of securing the fold, perhaps by installing a rock-climbing clip somehow, so that the stem can be held securely attached to the body when folded. UPDATE: We did find a way to secure the fold. Our "solution" is not very functional and it's ugly as well. We are going to try locking as updated in Point 1 above, which will hopefully solve the problem.

Best and most complete scooter for the price range
I had an electric skateboard but after the motor started dying I realized that i didn't have brakes when the motor was not working . So , I decided to buy an electric scooter and I bought the highboy S2 . I think that it's the most complete and best quality in this price range . It has a mechanicical disc brake so whatever happens I can stop . A loud bell so pedestrians can hear me when they don't pay attention . It has pretty good light at the front and brake light at the back and most importantly intense red lighting in either side of the deck that lights up the street so much that they can see me from very far (video) . I am 6'2" 190 lbs and I always have min 25 lbs backpack and I can easily see 19 mph with good acceleration and I can do 15 mi range . The double suspension works also very good with my weight . I love the fact that I can never have a flat tire and the diameter of the wheel is enough to go over some bumps or little pad holes with ease . Very easy to fold and unfold cause I always put in my car . Worth mentioning is their app that you can adjust breaking , acceleration , cruise control and a lot of other things . An important detail is that the port that you charge it is at the I upper part of the steering wheel , not low by the deck like other scooters so when it rains there is no problem with the water . The reason that I picked this over other scooters is the big company behind it and I was right because in the beginning I needed a different part and the customer service was amazing . They were responding in less than 24 hours in my emails and I felt that they care about their client's needs and satisfaction and they totally back up their products . The last thing is that I can find any kind of part in their site in very reasonable prices . I'm very happy with my choice and I highly recommend this scooter

Honest review
The scooter is pretty good. Sturdy, fast (as it can reach the described speed) and I mean. It’s just really good. Why I’m giving it 4 stars? Simply because the battery runs a little bit fast. Turns out the battery lasts enough to reach the maximum distance described on the product description as long as you drive it 12mph or under which is not that fast and it’s like a fine print of the product. Otherwise the battery will last for 6 or 7 miles of total driving at its maximum speed. On the other hand, it can take you everywhere. I’ve drove this thing to work and without any issue. I work 11 miles away from home so we are not talking about rookie numbers, the cruise control mode it’s a superb nice feature and can help you saving battery and enjoying the ride. Be careful with this, the solid tires can be a plus and also a con, because every small bump or hole on the road it’s gonna feel like a punch on your hands and a modest hole can take you down since the wheels can’t absorb those hits. On the other hand you don’t have to worry about flat tires at all. Overall, I would say if it meets your expectations, just buy it. It’s worth the money.

False advertising and sneaky company practices
First all of the reason why my review is one star is because they tricked me when I returned the scooter. After having to take care for all the return process (you have to contact them for when the scooter arrives to their facilities, which IMO is their responsibility) they never issued the refund. I returned this scooter because I’m 200 lbs male 6ft tall and out of the 17 miles they advertise on their page I could never get more of 5 miles with more than 2 out of 5 battery bars. I always had to charge the scooter after getting to work (4.72 miles). So basically real battery life is 6 miles. With steep hills or terrain you'll never pass the 5miles. Note that after a year of use you won’t get any more than 3 miles cause the battery downgrades rapidly. After 2 months of use brakes started to screech during every single ride and the electric brake is sometimes a hit or miss (use it for short distances). You need to do maintenance on this scooter every 2 months or so because if its cheap quality. You’ll need to adjust the screws on the handle metal bar every 3-4 rides because otherwise they’ll fall off lol. I guess it really applies the “you get what you pay for”. Though for $300 I think it isn’t worth it and I’d pay a bit more to get a “decent” scooter next time. If you buy it and have an issue get ready to deal with their customer (24 hrs not based in the US) support team. I wouldn’t buy it again at all. If you buy it know that after a period of 6 months to a year youll need to buy a new one cause this will one will end up being useless. (And it’s sad because we also need to be aware of batteries disposal, these companies make cheap products that don’t last for more than a year and then we get rid of them and this harms the environment).

Amazing scooter and even better customer service
Excellent scooter. I bought one in early January and I love this scooter. I work one mile from my house and I only have to charge it a couple times a week. I had issues with my scooter at first, but the customer service was amazing, sending me new parts for the scooter. I was also going through personal issues with my son being very sick and hospitalized. They worked with me and even offered to replace my scooter before I finally got it fixed. I would buy this scooter and highly recommend this company because of the AMAZING QUALITY SERVICE. The scooter is amazing, I love it so much, especially since gas prices have been so high lately. But if you have issues I can promise you that you will receive quality customer service. Big thanks to Cherry and HighBoy Scooter Company!

Exactly as advertised.
I won't say 5 stars means it's the best EV scooter out there, but it is exactly what we wanted for our 12 year old son. We bought him a Razor EV scooter rated for 12mph and that thing barely could move him (130lbs) up a 5 degree slope. So we returned the Razor and purchased the Hiboy S2. It was on sale but slightly higher than the price advertised today. We chose the S2 because it came with solid non-inflatable tires, 19mph, 17 mile range. It has enough power and torque to drive up a 20 degree inclined street with a bit of degradation at the top of the hill. Coming down the same hill we cn mx out at 23 mph. On flat surfaces it does reach 19 mph. Battery life is quite good. Don't know exact miles per charge but it does hold the charge over 40 minutes of riding. At constant 19 mph, it should take you about 53 minutes to reach 17 miles max range. It recharges without any issue so far. Hope to keep the battery life healthy by charging it once month during the winter season. There are two speeds built in the app where you can set max speed to 13 mph or 19 mph. For the first week my snows riding around set to 13 mph. Once he got used to the scooter he rode it at full 19 mph. It also has electric braking which I think helps to recharge the battery - like in F1 cars. He has to kick start the scooter for it to start moving. The throttle won't engage unless the scooter starts moving. This feature prevents it from starting suddenly from a full stop. Build quality is excellent. When compared to the Gotrax scooters, the main steering tube is smaller in diameter than the Gotrax, and the deck is much thicker then Gotrax. Gotrax houses the batteries in the steering tube while the Hiboy is under the deck. The Gotrax looks more streamed lined but both equally built well. So far the solid tires have been holding up but showing some wear. We may have to get new tires sometime mid season next year. We bough this Hiboy because my 12 year old is 130lbs and 5'2". Any other kids EV scooter would not be ideal for him. Note that the steering tube is taller on the adult S2 than kids size. I would not recommend for kids under 5 ft tall. Always wear a helmet.

Great scooter, even better customer service
Bought this scooter as a gift for my brother in college and it’s been a fantastic investment. It’s held up well as his main way of getting around campus genuinely useful for day-to-day life. Fair warning: my brother is not exactly gentle with it, so there’s been some wear and tear over time. Whenever something needed attention, the customer service team always came through sending replacement parts, motors, and whatever else was needed to get it back up and running. They even continued to help us out after the warranty period ended, which honestly blew me away. Shoutout to Claire specifically, who assisted us multiple times and was consistently patient and knowledgeable. That kind of support is rare and it really cements my trust in this brand. Would absolutely recommend and if anything ever does go wrong, you’re in good hands
