Very well designed/made - LOUD enough to let a walker know you are coming
This is a very well designed and made tiny bell. Small is important so it easily fits on your bars without getting in the way of anything else AND it is not sticking out to get wiped out if you have a crash. Very easy to fit and prises apart to fit over the bars so no need to remove anything else from the bars. Comes with fittings for a range of the normal size handlebars including mountain bikes. I bought it as a new section of shared byway had opened near me and I needed a polite way of letting walkers know I was coming up behind them. I would describe the noise as a friendly sharp ring/ping. If I am doing 15mph/24kph coming up behind a walker, then they seem to react to the bell when I am about 4-5 seconds away - ample for one of us to adjust pace/position. If the walker has headphones on then it may take a couple of rings before they can hear it. If they are playing Heavy Metal full blast, then I don't suspect anything will get through! The ring is 85 decibels. I cannot think how this could be improved - maybe a tad louder. Only negative is that the attachment of the spring to the Pinger feels a bit flimsy, but I think that is just a feeling as you have a solid plastic item attached to a spring and so it is going to feel a bit wobbly. Only time will tell it it holds together, but I have rung it a few hundred times so far and all good. They have made the spring from stainless so it will not corrode, thoughtfully integrated cable runs, so cable passes through it. Available in a range of colours. I have been using it for 4 months on a mountain bike. Overall - Excellent and hence 5*

Excellent bell
Very good bell. It has a nice tone and good volume/persistence as well as looking discrete but very stylish. I will buy several more for my other bikes.

Brass and Black ones sound totally different...
Bought a black version of this for my second bike. I have a brass version of this bell on my other bike and the two sound completely different (as you'd expect I suppose). Different pitch (higher pitched than the brass one), different tone (much broader overtones), different volume (louder) and with a lot more sustain. They get a reasonable amount of use. I've had the brass one since 2017 and I've had no 'pinger' issues that others have experienced on here... and I really have had to give it a lot of frantic thumbing at times. They're not loud enough in heavy traffic and no lorry driver will hear it from his cab even if he was the only vehicle around. That being said, I quite like them. I don't think they're the best bell in the world but I do like the way they look and their 'polite' ping seems to be acceptable to pedestrians if nothing else...

Great product
I really like the look and the ease in which this fits to the bike. I made one interesting observation, the sound this bell makes is very similar to either a Text message or Whatsapp audible alert made by an Iphone. I found this out on the Pennine Bridleway on my first outing, as I approached a couple of walkers I rang my bell and to my surprise both the walkers stopped and got out their phones. Now I give my bell a couple of dings when approaching walkers :-)

Not Worth the Money
I was very happy with this when I originally bought it, as it was sleek and stealthy and had a pleasant, clear tone which could be heard easily by pedestrians from a distance of at least 50 metres on quiet roads/cycleways. However, after only one year, one of the springs that holds the actual bell away from its base has corroded and broken. This causes a severe dampening effect on the bell which renders it not fit for purpose. Very disappointed as I had bought a cheaper version for an older bike a year before I bought this one, and it's still going strong.

Sound
Good looking bell nice and thin. Fits great on 32mm Dia bar. It has a great sound and even with just the one flick, the ring is sustained for a good number of seconds. Loud enough to be heard by those you are approaching but not an aggressive sharp sound. There are a few video's out there which helped in the selection but not on the makers web site.

Spring too weak to function properly
Looks nice but spring is far too weak and has deteriorated further since purchasing. Wasn't great when new but now either doesn't ring or rings very quietly.

The ideal bike bell
Love these bells, I know some will say it's not cool to have a bell, but if you ride regularly on bridleways or towpaths where you are likely to come into contact with walkers, they are a necessity. These make a nice ding with is easy to hear, although some people, with their backs to you, do get their phones out there pockets thinking they have received a message lol. More importantly for me, unless you look closely, you can't even see I have a bell fitted, unlike the ones that bike shops fit free with new bikes that look like satellite dishes

Interessante
