Do these sponges have that nasty fungicide added to them? Those that do usually warn about not using in an aquarium because it will kill fish.

Thank you for asking. We do add a non-toxic biocide and humectant to preserve and keep the sponges moist while in the package on store shelves. We recommend that the sponges be rinsed before first use to rinse these out. As noted on all of our packaging, these products are not for aquarium use. The humectant is magnesium chloride which can be toxic to fish. If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to connect with us directly at 1-800-846-8887 M-F 8am-4:30pm.

Are these 100% biodegradable / compostable?

Thank you for asking. The sponge portion is. In order to compost the sponge, just remove the scrubbing material.

The point is biogradable, so how do you dispose of these?

The scrubby is made of 50% plant & 50% plastic. The sponge is made from paper & plant. So you can compost the sponge but you have to cut off the scrubby first and dispose of it in trash!

It says: "Made in USA with globally sourced materials."
