So Far, So Good. Big Reduction in Electrical Heating Costs.
I saw a pretty wide spread of reviews with some people saying the product broke, others saying that it was awesome, and others saying it wasn't comfortable. We've had ours (two twins and a queen) for two months now and they've been great. We've seen a dramatic change in heating costs. At night time our room temperatures can get down to 50 and we're nice and toasty in our beds. The thermostat kicks on to warm up the rooms before we wake up, but through the sleeping hours (which are the coldest and 1/3 of the day) we're just using the electric mattress pads and a minimal amount from the house heaters. All winters are different, but we've cut our winter power bill by ~40% this year. As far as the comfort, you can sort-of feel the wires but perhaps my family is a bit less sensitive than others. It's akin to being able to feel the seam in a blanket or sheet: maybe you can, maybe you can't, but does it really matter? For us the answer is no. The auto-turn-off feature is nice too, set for 10 hours. That gives us enough time to turn these on an hour or so before bed, blankets on. That way it's nice and cozy in bed. If one of us forgets to turn it off in the morning, no big deal, it'll shut off soon enough. Given the rather terrible reviews from some folks I bought the warranties; we'll see how that all plays out if I do have any problems. Also, because this is electrical wiring directly in a bed you're sleeping in, I'd recommend making sure you have good smoke and CO detectors with a fire extinguisher. These are UL listed products and I haven't had any problems, and good fire safety should be in place whether or not you use these. Still, it makes me sleep better.

Your bed will be toasty!!!!
This is my third heated mattress pad. I use it on a twin bed. The first two pads I had… had to be duct taped to my mattress or they would get moved around in the wrong place. By the way I had each of those Sunbeam pads for about 4-5 years, one after the other. Also the first two were about half the size or less of my twin mattress. I use this pad to primarily to heat my legs and feet as they are the coldest parts of my body. This new one is like a fitted mattress sheet so it’s great that I don’t have to tape it down. While I gave almost 5 stars to all featured categories I do have to reveal that the temperature setting must be off. I only use a 1 out of 12. I set it for just 3-5 hours otherwise if I have it on all night I will wake up hot. The nice thing is this new pad has a timer unlike my old ones. Mind you I live in a cold north western state. When I get in the bed at the setting of 1 it feels like a warm bath. The warmth radiates to your entire body. Just lovely. I can’t imagine what a 6 or 12 would be like….scaldilng? I’m afraid to try that. But perhaps like one reviewer said I may need those higher settings as the wires/pad gets older. All in all very happy with this Sunbeam product.

Works great. Love it!
This mattress pad is really nice to have. I wish we had bought one a long time ago and I wouldn't have to have been wearing socks to bed. We only had cold feet, so I bought the twin size and put it crosswise at the bottom of our king size bed. That way it only warms our feet and not the rest of us. Works perfectly. The coil wires are very thin. We put it underneath our regular mattress pad and don't even know that it's there except for the warmth. It heats VERY well. It has 10 heat settings but we haven't had it over #3 since we got it. My only complaint is with the temperature control knob. It's big and round and smooth and slippery. It has some tiny little bumps that don't really do much to help you grab it. I have to hold it with two hands and use both thumbs to turn it to adjust the temperature. Luckily we don't have to do that very often. It turns on or off with a simple push button and remembers where you had it set the night before. It shuts off automatically after 10 hours so it's not something you have to worry about forgetting in the morning .

Good heat distribution but new controllers are too loose
This one is by far less quality than the last Sunbeam mattress pad I bought in 2017. It seems these are no lasting as long as they used to. I bought one in 2012 which was soft and high quality. It lasted until 2016 before it started blinking on one side. The second one I bought in 2017 was still nice and soft but only lasted a few years. In 2019, it wouldn't get as warm and had to use the highest setting to get it stay warm. That setting used to get it really hot so it was already starting to fail on heating. I finally looked around this past winter at other heated mattress pads and all of them have mixed reviews so I stayed with Sunbeam again. This mattress pad isn't cushioned and I wouldn't classify it as a mattress pad. I went ahead and kept this one because of the warmth and use it under my mattress pad I just bought from Serta. If you are looking for soft, this isn't it. The other reviews are correct in saying that it feels like paper. The cotton quality isn't great. Also, the heat controllers are so loose that it was hard to determine if it was in a particular setting. I finally gave up and am using the contollers from the other Sunbeam that stopped working because it clicks into settings so I know how warm it will get. All in all -- it is an okay heated pad but think that Sunbeam could have done better for the price.

Fantastic for winter
I originally bought this to use at a weekend house where I kept the heat turned down low during the week. When I got to the house on Friday nights, the house, and the mattress were quite cold. It was a shock getting into the bed when the mattress was below 50º. I turned these on first thing when I got to the house, while the steam was just beginning to rattle the pipes. By the time I slid into bed, it was slipping into a toaster. FANTASTIC! I bought these for every bed now. Even when the house is warm, it's nice setting the control to a low level and getting into a nice warm bed in winter.

Works as described
I had an older version of this bed heater but it stopped working, I think my pets ruined it. So when it was time to buy another one I looked at this one (the cheap one) and the more expensive ones. All in all they seemed about the same from reviews and why pay for more for the same thing? The little hand held temperature controller has 10 options which I Love! The old one clicked into place so you could adjust it without looking but this new one slides around with no clicks, meaning I have to physically look to see where the temperature is at if I want to adjust it at night time. With my side on 7 and my husband’s side on 0 he can tell if mine is on as it does heat up a little bit of his side too. Not a lot and not his whole side but enough to notice my side is on. The cords are long enough to reach around wherever a person needs them. I have no issues with cord length on the King size bed. The main plug is goes from the middle of the bed at the feet to the wall no issues. Then both heater controllers have no issues reaching both my side and my husbands side of the bed. The mattress heater does heat up pretty quickly and I imagine that setting 10 is used primarily in COLD 🥶 states like North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana as 7 is Plenty warm for me and I live in Oregon. All in all I really like this mattress bed heater. I think in the last 15 years this is the third one I’ve bought and all 3 have been this same brand and kind. All have worked well until I either got rid of them or my dogs got naughty at helped it deteriorate at a quick rate. Far as how soft it is: I sleep with a fitted sheet over the top of the pad, softness isn’t something I notice. The coils is something a person could feel through the fitted sheet but it’s not something we notice. The older version I noticed it but this time they seem to have fixed that issue. Perhaps it’s a little thicker than before. Definitely recommend this mattress heater for the price, quality and reliability.

Works great so far!
I washed my less than one year old electric blanket and one side would not work so I got on Amazon and Google spending the entire day reading reviews. Good & negative reviews on all heated bed mattress pads. I ordered this one because: Made in America, Amazon's choice, more reviews than all the other mp (including all brands) put together, & price. I live in Tennessee and I use my side of mp all most every night 365 nights per year. My 1st 2 mp were made by Sunbeam lasting a total of 23 years. The mp that this mp replaced lasted less than 1 year. It arrived quickly, fit was snugger than previous mp (I like this fit better cause it doesn't slide around & I have 18 inch pillow top king size mattress). I do place a non heated mp on top of mp so I can wash top mp often and don't need to wash electric mp as often. I like that it has a 10 hour auto off and the on/off LIGHT WILL turn off . My last mp light would stay on even after the thermostat turned off. I never could tell if my old mp was on or off cause the light was always on. None of the reviews that I read said anything about light off/on. Thankfully this mp has this feature. The only thing that I don't like about this mp is the dial that increases and lower temp is hard to turn. I read this in the reviews. Not a deal breaker but irritating. Just had this for 1 week. Hope it last longer than my last mp.

Please don't buy this.
I had a SunBeam heated mattress pad that I loved and used for years. When it died, I bought this one to replace it. I purchased this in October of 2018. Now, in the beginning of March of 2019, I am on my second replacement for the replacement. The first mattress pad had an issue with control. The Low setting was equal to about a four on my first heated mattress pad, unbearably hot for a Low setting. Then, it stopped heating the side I was sleeping on all together within the first three weeks of owning it. I was able to exchange it with no issues via Amazon. The second mattress pad worked perfectly- at first. After about a month, I noticed the side I slept on wasn't heating all the way. There were spots that didn't get warm. Slowly, the whole side I slept on stopped heating. Then, the heat started failing across the bed, inching its way to the other side. Only about a four inch strip all the way across the other side of the bed would warm, even when the mattress pad was on its highest setting. I did everything I could to fix it. Both had only had normal use. I had placed them on top of my mattress, and kept them at a decent setting, and both failed within weeks. I called Sunbeam's customer service, thankful I had bought the warranty, and got hung up on twice. Then, I finally got in touch with a woman (after being on hold for half an hour) who was very sweet and very helpful. They sent me a free replacement mattress pad. I was happy- until I used it. It's been on my bed two nights and it already doesn't heat evenly. I've tried everything to figure out what the problem is. I have everything correct and have consulted the manual- nothing. I called their system for troubleshooting, and I have been using everything correctly so that does not apply either. I'm absolutely fed up, and I will never buy from this company again. Spare yourself the headaches and cold nights. Just avoid this product all together. I called today to return the replacement and see if I could get my money back. I've been on hold for almost an hour. Do not order from Sunbeam unless you enjoy horrible products and wasting your time.

Heat from barely anything to feverishly hot
My girlfriend and I like to sleep in a cool room with warm blankets, only I liked the room cooler than her and she'd get chilly. Boom, with this, the bed's always just right and I can turn the heat nearly off overnight! Saves us money on our heating bill and the bed is just oh-so-welcoming. The heat goes from basically not noticeable (1) to about my own body temperature (4, which is how I like to sleep) to really hot like you wanna melt those muscles knots in your back (8) to "oh no my bed's going to catch fire" (12, which I use for about 5 minutes to preheat the bed). I sometimes feel like any heat beyond 6 isn't really useful for anything, but it's nice to have the option! The auto-shutoff works great. The only minor complaint is that the screen stays on (with the LED off, of course) once the auto-shutoff did its thing, and I think you can't adjust the heat without turning it off and on again. It's just a minor nuisance and nothing I'd fight over, it's just a little quirk you have to learn. Overall I love it, and I don't see myself surviving winters without one anymore.

I LOVE it!!
I cannot get into a cold bed! It doesn’t matter whether it’s winter or summer, a cold bed gives me restless leg/body. For 10 years I’ve been warming my bed up with a Sunbeam electric throw. I would turn it off when I got into bed so I wouldn’t get overheated. However, as my body heated up through the night, just the thick fuzziness of the throw would be too much and I would have to get up, throw the other blankets back, and pull it off the bed. I didn’t even know there was any such thing as a heated mattress pad until a few months ago. I hesitated to buy one, because I thought I would be sleeping on uncomfortable wires. I finally decided to give it a try because I was tired of having to undo and remake my bed in the middle of the night. Since I was so happy with the Sunbeam heated throw and it’s s still working after 10 years, I decided to try the Sunbeam heated mattress pad. I’ve been sleeping on it 2 1/2 weeks and I LOVE it❗️ The first night I turned it on to 10 about an hour before I went to bed because I was used to turning the throw onto high and letting it heat the bed for an hour. Well, the bed was too warm and I had to pull the covers back to cool it down some. It took me a few nights to figure out the right setting for just warming the bed up. I set it on 3 and the bed is perfectly warm when I get in. I’m not sure if it takes a whole hour to heat up or not. One night I forgot to turn it on ahead of time and it only had 20 mins. The bed wasn’t warm enough, but it wasn’t completely cold. So, I would guess 30 to 40 minutes would be sufficient. We have a king size bed with two separate twin XL mattresses, so I bought the twin size, hoping it had enough depth to work. My mattress is about 10 inches deep and the mattress pad has no problem fitting and staying in place, even though it’s meant for a mattress 5 inches shorter. I can’t comment on whether you would feel any wires or not, because our king size mattress pad goes over the top of it. That may be the reason it takes more than 20 minutes to heat up my bed. If you don’t have another mattress pad on top of it it might heat up pretty quickly. If you’re a very sensitive sleeper, like I am, I would suggest just putting another thin mattress pad over the top of it if you do feel any wires. I am very happy with this mattress pad and have no problem recommending it to anyone who wants to have a warm bed to get into on our cold, Canadian winter nights.

It's okay, but expected more for the price.
The heat is great on this heated mattress cover, but you can definitely feel the wires. I find the remotes a bit sub-par, inasmuch as you can't see what the heat is set at in the dark. It's a dial and there's also a round on/off button. The button is lit, but the heat settings aren't, so to turn it off, I just dial it right back to where I know zero is. When I change the sheets on our bed tomorrow I'll be putting our other mattress cover over this Sunbeam one so we can't feel the wires so much. The electrical cables coming from the mattress cover's "plug-in notch" at the connector are long enough, as are the cables to the remotes. Nothing to complain about there. The elasticized "skirt" that tucks in underneath the bed mattress is also good, and we have one of those stupidly deep mattresses, so it fits well and there is ample room so that the heated mattress cover doesn't come off the mattress. Would I buy it again? Hmmm, probably not. I think I'd go with another one that is a bit better made and/or is more padded, and also has better remotes.
