Glorified Cook Book
This book gave very limited insight into thyroid disease, causes and treatments. Not, at any point, was a doctor or thyroid specialist quoted. Scientific studies were vaguely referenced and, if questions about the studies arose while reading, were not addressed. The book's main focus was to promote its recipe section. Many of the recipes could be found by simply searching for "hypo- or hyper-thyroid recipes." The recipes also did not offer any substitution suggestions or alternative cooking methods and/or cooking implementations. There were a few options that stuck out, such as the White Bean and Artichoke appetizer, the Salmon Salad and Nori Sheet Roll entree, and the Blueberry Mousse dessert. Overall, paying full printed price for this book seems exorbitant but as a quick study into thyroid disease or for someone looking for a compilation of easy, healthy recipes the Kindle format would work.

EXCELLENT!!
This is an excellent resource for anyone who has thyroid issues or has a recent diagnosis regarding the thyroid gland. The book also describes in layman terms the function of the thyroid and how those functions interact with the physiology of our bodies. It is excellent! There are good descriptions of the types of foods we consume and their impact on this important gland; thus influencing its function. It provides excellent detail on how the right diet can trigger the thyroid to function at its best. So even if medication is prescribed, the proper diet can aid as well, giving the individual optimum results for healing the thyroid, or at the very least doing what one can to promote positive consequences with treatment. An excellent feature of this book are the chapters filled with recipes that utilize the foods recommended for the thyroid; even people without thyroid issues will find these recipes tempting to say the least. I would recommend this book for every cook's kitchen. It is particularly essential for those who are health-conscious and want to focus on increasing knowledge of healthy foods and proper preparation. This would make a great gift for a cook who is always interested in new information or furthering one's knowledge of healthy living.

While learning about science and biology can sometimes be challenging, The Thyroid Diet Plan never makes the reader try too hard to understand something. Easy math and examples are used, as is common language rather than too scientific of terms, and the average reader should have no trouble grasping the concepts. Finally, this book wonderfully devotes a large section to recipes, which look easy to follow, healthy and delicious!

Not a Good Choice
I was so desperate to find some answers and a few good recipes when dealing with Hypothyroidism so I ordered this book without checking out some of the reviews. I don't usually do reviews for items I purchase, but I do not want others to throw away their money. The book starts by saying that the thyroid is located BEHIND the Adam's Apple. What?! No! The writer should have done their research before this book went to publishing. It is very obvious that the writer does not have a clear understanding of the Thyroid and any issues surrounding the Thyroid. If the writer did their research beforehand, the writer would have known that Gluten should be the first to be eliminated from your diet when dealing with Thyroid issues. The recipes include foods with Gluten. For those of you suffering from Thyroid issues, please do your research and do not believe everything you read. There is a lot of good information out there, but this book is not a good place to start. I believe this book deserved no stars but since a Star Rating is required, I have no choice but to give this book one star.

Just a typical diet - not Thyroid
Not impressed with this book. It's pretty much just a'normal' diet book with low-fat, low-carbs, calorie control. It does not address thyroid specific diet issues.

Nothing knowledgeable only USA based food plan not worth for Indians. Very small meals which is not practical.
