Havalon Knives

Great, sharp, knives for daughters taxidermy work! Sturdy and durable. Lightweight and easy to handle.

I use theses to clean deer. They cut like butter. The blades are razor sharp so be careful. Knife is sturdy and blades stay secured. Can be a little tough to change blade so don’t lose the tool that comes with it, makes it much easier.

This is now the only knife I carry (EDC). I have some excellent knives and an excellent knife sharpener, but the convenience of simply (but VERY carefully) switching out a blade and always having a nice new razor sharp one ready to go is awesome in my old age. I’ve read/heard some complaints (u-Tube) concerning it being too light weight and unsuitable for heavy use such as prying around bones when field dressing an animal. We’ll… I wouldn’t go bear hunting with a .22 either. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with a .22 it simply means somebody’s ability to select the right tool for the job just very well might be lacking. The knife has a nice grip. I personally think of it and use it as a long bladed scalpel. Replacement blades are readily available on line and/or Bass Pro. I have gone through about 20 blades in the year or two I’ve owned it and imagine going through a great many more before I die as this knife will definitely outlast me. Great product!

Great folder, as sharp as a scalpel because they are scalpel blades (fitment #4) so any blade with that size will fit this. I keep an old blade in the blade remover if I’m getting into something that will dull a blade fast like cardboard, paper, leather, bark. I’ve found without forceps or and holder that opening the new blades only down to the start of the cut out allows you to use the packaging as a barrier putting on a new blade.

Best knife there is for this type of work. I have multiple. Never need to buy another one. I keep on in the side by side, my chest harness and truck just in case I misplace one. They’re that clutch.

Must have for cleaning deer. I cant go back to a regular buck knife.

This is my third Havalon, as unfortunately I lost my first two. These knives are awesome! It’s always nice to have a small razor sharp blade on hand. I mainly use these for skinning and bleeding fish

Very happy so far with the knife. The quality is excellent, the blade is (was) super sharp and I find myself using it more than any other knife in the shop. However..... The blade that came installed on it fit perfectly but all the replacement blades wobble and rattle. Maybe they got a bad batch of blades. Either way, I’m having to use the now dull original blade while I order a new set of replacements. The seller could not assist in replacing the originals.
