Brinly BS36BH-A Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader with Universal Hitch, 175 lb.+ -Flat Black

I decided to move up to a tow-behind spreader since I live on five acres and I’m getting too old to use a push type broadcast spreader. I did a fair amount of research on the options but finally decided on this Brinly unit. It came nicely packaged. Figure on a two hour assembly time, taking your time and following the instructions, which are great, by the way. All the small parts are on a blister pack, organized in the order in which you need them. Very well thought out! The spreader is heavy duty and well designed.

Very pleased with my purchase so far. First use went as planned although ended up with a leak in one tire. Got only and sent email over the weekend and got a reply early that Monday indicating a replacement would be shipped. Received the new tire/wheel on Thursday. Wow. Am very pleased

Plastic rims on tires and very cheap Plastic bushings on all spinning parts , I actually sent this back after opening it because the way it was packaged the spinner for dispersing the product was cracked and damaged, the one thing I did like was the chute will slide from side too side and in center for pattern flow control. Actually replaced with an agri-fab spreader with a 185 pound capacity, have a very large yard

I purchased this in October 2024 - 8 months ago. Lightly used to spread grass seed and fertilizer. The flow mechanism never worked properly, sometimes closing prematurely and other times opening when it should be closed. The broadcast feature broke in no longer rotates. Thus spreading fertilizer doesn’t spread the fertilizer. It just simply drops it and it’s a little bit trickles out. I feel like this is a worthless machine that is not worth the money paid for it. Very disappointed. I feel like I was taking advantage of.

I use this on my small farm to spread cover crop seeds and granular fertilizer. Taking off one star because the axle seized up after not much use but customer service sent me a replacement gear box very quickly with no questions asked. It does take a little time to assemble, but if you live somewhere without access to any sort of farm supply store it’s worth it. It’s a great size for someone with just a couple acres who doesn’t want to invest in larger equipment. It can hold almost I have pulled it behind my lawn tractor and also my ATV. It works well and you can adjust the opening for various applications rates and particle/seed size. Held three 50 lb bags easily. I got the handle extender (sold separately) so I can reach behind while I’m driving and shut the hopper as I turn around to make an another pass.

Work great! I use it to pull behind my riding mower for seeding and fertilizing. It is easy to use and a heavy duty one and I don't fill it to the capacity it is rated at.

I found this spreader to be a larger version of the "throw away" $50 spreaders. I had hoped to replace these prior purchases with something of substantially higher quality so that it would last for several seasons. I found this unit because it was the #1 top reviewed unit on a couple lawn and garden websites (websites I had never heard of, but had no reason to doubt). I now find those reviews to be suspect. This unit took 3 hours to assemble - because it comes completely as a collection of individual parts. This was compounded by the fact that the hole between the transmission assembly and the axle do not line up. This had to be re-drilled to enable assembly. A few steps later, I found the clamp handle for the gate setting also had to be re-tapped because the threads were bad. Then a bolt had to be re-tapped because of bad threads preventing assembly again. After all of this headache, the indicator which serves as a stop for the dispense lever is such thin steel that it bent on first use, causing my dispense rate to be a full setting above where I had set it. If you are looking for a quality product, this isn't it.

This spreads the bait perfectly for crickets. I had one issue but customer service was great and resolved it right away. Awesome company to deal with!!
