56-1 Attic Ladder Spring Replacement Parts for Werner Attic Ladders

Our house was built in 1945 and the springs to our attic were just not as “springy” any more. The attic door wouldn’t stay up on its own and would just fall to the ground if we didn’t have locks on it. We searched for replacements and finally found these. We honestly didn’t know how to find these but after measuring the existing springs and doing a little research, we found these and they looked to be the perfect fit. We kept our fingers crossed and after I locked my husband in the attic 🤪, he was able to install these quite easily and quickly. The fit was perfect and the quality is amazing. These are great replacement attic ladder springs.

It was the exact correct replacement size as my original set of springs (measured both stretched and collapsed). Unfortunately, it proved to be a weaker spring that would not fully close my attic door. Cleaned and reapplied my original 26-year-old set of springs, and once again, my attic door closes fully with no gap.

I am building an attic ladder contraption for my attic, and these springs are the ones that I needed! They fit the ladder hinge kit exactly as theu should, and they have the perfect amount of spring to get the attic ladder up where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. They are made of strong metal, and look to be the kind that will last for a long time. Recommended!

These are actually better than the factory springs. The originals rusted out in like 8 years; these have a heavy-duty black coating that feels way more durable. I put them on my WH2208 and the ladder finally closes with resistance instead of just slamming down. Heat-treated steel is no joke—they're stiff, responsive, and look clean.
