It arrives 'mostly' wrinkle-free. A travel steamer is more than enough to smooth them out completely. I haven't washed them yet, but based on my vast experience with fabric backdrops, I have zero concerns about these drapes. The material is good quality. The color is consistent. The edges are smooth. The rod pocket is well stitched. Everything about these drapes is A+
