Review: Well written story - If you are a fan of movie stars from that era or just a Sinatra fan you will enjoy this book. It is packed full of tales of stars of the day and and endlessly fascinating. Review: Good easy read - I have Steve McQueen, Paul Newman & Humphrey Bogart in addition to Frank Sinatra All are very interesting & revealing .My only negative concern regarding all 4 books is that they seem to over discuss sexual accomplishments including homosexuality & lesbianism as opposed to speaking more of what these men accomplished or destroyed. This is the same review for all 4 books.

Trash fest with all of the gossip unfit to print in years gone by
A trash fest. If you like tabloids and all that they say, then you will probably enjoy this book. It is presented as a biography, truthful in the details. Well, if so, then life among the celebrities identified was certainly beyond anything I had imagined. Fun reading but definitely not for everyone. If you don't like foul language, talk about sexual encounters and peoples sexual equipment, then don't waste your money and time. If you like sleaze, then you will probably like the whole book, like I did.

Fun and interesting
The movie facts are great, such facts as to when was any film of Sinatra premiered or when were some of his greates songs launched. All the rest of the Book it's pure fun and tons of interesting history and gossip not only from Mr. Sinatra, but also of stars such as Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, all of the the 'Rat Pack' , Betty Page and many more. Won't rate it with 5 stars because some of the material published are reprinst from previous Blood Moon books, but nevertheless, great reading!

Who knows if its true but its funny.
Ok, a lot of the book seams fake. The stories are so out there they cant all be true. Its not clear who the sources are and very unrealistic that the quotes are real. However, it is a funny and entertaining book, just dont take it as fact.

Lewd and illegible
I've been devouring 100s of classic celebrity bios for the past four years for a research. I have read work by authors who seemed to stumble through the grammatical landscape of the English language and some others who enhance and even over furnish the character of a favorite celeb. There is also an acerbic fraction of celeb authors who throw rocks and\or pseudo-psychological gibberish just for our enlightenment. However, I have yet to come across a more salacious slanderer like Darwin Porter and his minion of co-writers. These men take pride in revealing their own concupiscence and debauched sexual fantasies about whoever the subject may be. I can't understand how such debased fiction got published as fact and why aren't the relatives of these mostly dead celebs suing? In short there is nothing uglier than an obvious lie that is conducted as truth especially when it is used in description of one's personage. I'm sure nobody wants their image mangled and distorted after their voices have long faded into a life beyond our own.

Never one of my Favorite singers but he held a certain interest regarding his association with Marilyn Monroe, the Kennedys and the Mafia, Darwin Porter (in his usual style) uncovers, and tells the story of the rise of Sinatra from the beginning to the end of his life. Sinatra, never known for being a pleasant man, is shown as a person who once crossed held a grudge for a long time. A small man who wore built up shoes but made up for his shortness in another department, had numerous affairs with the top Hollywood stars of the time.... Ava Gardener, Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe, Za Za Gabor and many others. An aggressive bully according to many who new him, had one set of rules for himself and another set for everyone else.I enjoyed the book and considered it a good read with many black and white pictures but it is much in the tradition of other Darwin Porters books, so expect more of the notoriety and the unplesantness and how Sinatra craved for power with the future Presidents of the USA, switching alliance to whoever responded to his whims.

Sinatra once said that if all the stories about his love life were true, he would be a specimen in a jar. As others have said, a titilating ramble though back numbers of 'The National Enquirer' based on speculation and the odd germ of truth. The quotes are laughable and the 'facts' pulled from other author's versions of his life and -like cheap elastic - stretched to the limit! I read it, I enjoyed parts of it and I took most of it with a pinch of salt. Of course, our Frank had congress with many famous and beautiful women that is not in dispute - but almost all the names mentioned are no longer with us and cannot confirm or deny any allegations. The 'News of the World' in a book and look what happened to that 'worthy' publication!
