It got me hooked. It's soo angsty and the main characters are so insecure, unlikeable, but oddly enough realistic. I was either rooting for the FL or ML 😅 I was even rooting for the ex. It was entertaining and a book that I will not forget. There were some writing aspect that could be improved, like being more descriptive with the setting, body language and emotions. But since it was so entertaining it didn't bother me. This is a definite read and I hope the author writes more of these kinds of stories. Perhaps, about FL's parents. 😁 Review: Great - I am into this book big time. Did not think it was a series. First read by this author and I am not disappointed. I don’t see how there can be a happy ending but I am willing to find out.

Roommates to Lovers
Everything in Arielle Mason’s life is perfect, or at least it seems that way on the outside. She has the perfect job, perfect family, perfect fiancé, but inwardly she’s dying to escape. When she sees that Caleb Black, a coworker who is also the office man whore, is renting a room out she jumps at the opportunity. I really wanted to love this book and there were parts that I did love, but then others that I didn’t. I liked most of the characters, but then again, I also disliked them at the same time. My feelings on this book are contradictory. I liked Arielle, but I disliked how every relationship she had, romantic or otherwise, seemed to be toxic in its own way. There really wasn’t one relationship that seemed completely normal to me. I am not a fan of the way this book ended, I felt like there was more that needed to resolved and it would have only taken another chapter or even a few pages. I did enjoy this book and never at anytime did I want to stop reading it, but the feelings I have as I end it make it hard for me to give it a high star rating. Like I said before, my feelings on this book are contradictory, but overall I did enjoy this book and loved the roommates angle. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audiobook version of this book! The narration was great!

Great Debut!
Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the advance reader copy of Roommates! Roommates is a dual POV story about Caleb and Ariella. Caleb is a notorious playboy looking to rent out his extra bedroom. Ariella is a coworker who has decided to leaver her fiancé. After taking down the rental adverts for weeks, she finally works up the courage to leave and offers Caleb over what he's asking to move in immediately. As the two of them grow to like each other, both of them start to find their true selves - Caleb begins to give up bringing home different women every night and Ariella begins to take more risks. But as Ariella begins to let her ex, Jasper, back into her life Caleb begins to realize his feelings for Ariella. Who will Ariella choose? I really enjoyed this story! I loved that there wasn't anything truly wrong with Jasper - Ariella just isn't sure he is the ONE. I spent the whole book going back and forth on who she would choose. That being said, the book isn't about her deciding which one she belongs with. It is about her realizing who she is as a person. The friendships in this book are great. Really, the nuances of all the relationships are very good. There were a few things that I didn't love. The beginning of the book was almost overly vague and I struggled to get into it a bit at first but Tundun really caught her stride in the middle and I couldn't believe the writing was a debut novel. There were a few ideas that were started and dropped - Caleb had an idea for a new business but that is never fleshed out. There were some pretty significant triggers (and felonies) that happened and then were not really touched on again. My biggest fault is that the ending is abrupt. I know (now) that it is the first in a series but it felt like it just stopped in the middle of the story. I give this one 3.5 stars but am rounding up to 4 since half stars aren't an option in NetGalley. I can't wait for the next one!

You Got To Have Friends
Roommates by Ola Tundun is a sparkling romcom with a sweet emotional resonance. Ms. Tundun brings a fresh perspective to several romantic novel tropes, proximity, slow burn, friends to lovers, opposites attract and workplace romance. The story is told from the point of view of both characters, so we are given insight into the unfolding narrative from both sides. Looking from the outside, Ariella Mason should feel like she is on the top of the world; she is wealthy, beautiful, has an awesome, rewarding job, and has a long-term fiancé who adores her. Unfortunately, Ariella’s life is TOO perfect and controlled; she feels like she is slowly smothering. When she sees that coworker Caleb Black has a room for rent, she hastily obtains the space. Caleb is the office lothario but proves to be both sensitive and supportive. Soon Ariella and Caleb have intertwined their lives and depended on each other. Their connection is complicated by Ariella's ex and Caleb's messy love life. Caleb and Ariella had areas of brokenness but with eventual understanding, love, and support they were able to forge a fledgling relationship. Ms, Tundun tells her story in a leisurely fashion and sets up the upcoming sequel nicely, I absolutely enjoyed this quirky, cute story!

Not a good read for me
The lead character is very whiny and keeps making stupid choices, stringing everyone along. All of the other characters were very protective of her which makes no sense.

Would recommend to someone else!
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to arc review this book. I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it either. I especially liked the ending. This is a solid 3.5 rating and I would definitely read a second book if it’s a series. I would recommend it as well.

I'm so confused, I don't know how to feel about this one. Sometimes, Ariella and Caleb annoyed the heck out of me, other times, I understood them completely. I judged Ariella when she left Jasper, and then I understood. But both of them were very much like say yes / act no, say no / act yes, nobody stands up for themselves, nobody just deals with their own decisions, they want to change, they keep on messing everything up, and drag EVERYONE else with them. I won't read the next books because that kind of mess is never cute on the long run, it's actually annoying. I think 400 pages was too much, I don't have the faith to read 800 more of this. Caleb, be responsible for once and deal with your shortcomings. Ariella, stop crying and grow up.

The story follows our two main characters. Ariella who is a young professional, adjusting to her new life after leaving her fiancé. Caleb is a smartass, carefree lodger with no intention of settling down. What’s clever about this story is it could be any of our lives and stories. All conversations and emotions are real and genuine. From excitement, heart break, moving on, secrets, regret, and learning. Ola does the perfect job of having you in the middle between all these characters, making you feel you were there. I went into this thinking it was a a full on ‘feel good’ book, but the gravity of ill judged words, or psychotic ex’s is all to real. It’s a brilliant example of life within the 20’s generation, pulling at all the emotions at the right time. Small side notes: I thought a love triangle was actually a German sex position. There’s spice in this too (not the kind I put on chicken wings, but the kind that’s made me take out shares in hand cream) A brilliant and lovely debut, and can’t wait to see what else you bring us

It took me a long time to understand and forgive Ariella for her childishness, but I loved the growth with her and Caleb just hope they continue growing because way too many personality flaws still left to sort

Roommates is the first book in the roommate series, this follows main characters Caleb and Ariella who become roommates after Ariella walks out on her long -term boyfriend. Caleb and Ariella are complete opposites and at first do not get on but the more they get to know each other, feelings start to develop. I absolutely loved this book, it has everything and more from complex characters to complicated relationships. The pacing of the book starts off a bit slow but quickly picks up pace as the story progresses. The character's development throughout was perfection they each come into their own. The chemistry and banter between Caleb and Ariella was off the charts and I loved how their relationship developed. Once I started reading this book it had me intrigued and hooked from the very first page, I couldn't put it down. The ending was a bit of a shock, I definitely didn't see that happening. I can't wait to dive straight into the next book in the roommate series. Overall this book was incredible and a five-star read. I would highly recommend it.

I started reading just before bed and carried on turning the pages until dawn! I couldn't put it down because I absolutely loved the characters and the style of writing. You almost feel like you become a part of their friendship and family. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to laugh and lose themselves in a relatable adult romantic situationship.
