Great movie. A friend who's a very savvy movie buff recommended it, so I expected it to be good, but it exceeded my expectations. Del Toro is fantastic, as usual, and it's a film that makes you think. It's well-written and well-acted and the photography is beautiful, as well. Lyrical and poetic. I'd definitely recommend it to others.

If I bought this, then I need to watch it again as it covered more than one man's ordeal with mental health, or war PTSD. His ethnicity, the lack of knowledge as far as Medical and Psychological science at the time this all occurred. It has pretty much going on. I thought the story, direction and acting were good as the movie deals with things we don't usually think of or talk about when we just send everyone off to fight for usually reasobs that have nothibg to do with wgat the Media wants us to believe - abd the post war effects on many peoples lives should be addressed with a bit more priority...

Benicio Del Toro, what else is there to say? The story was so touching and well acted. Mathieu Amalric was superb and the rest of the cast added so much to this heart warming movie.

Very good movie and worth seeing. Historical look at counseling and history. Great performances from start to finish.

Even though I'm native American I think the only way I could relate to it would be if I were in psychiatry.

The movie is very slow with no memorable anything.

The film is an excellent depiction of the therapeutic relationship--maybe one of the best--and a delightful historical telling of a man's struggle with the effects of war and cultural stress. It also portrays bits of the creative and dedicated team of professionals that made the post-war Topeka Menninger Clinic and associated services the gold standard of psychiatric services.
