Good sound meets good price
Exactly what you’d need for high quality music, UI is a little retro but it’s charm. Compared to the average music player this really does stand out in the way it can make the same song same mp3 file sound so noticeably different

Solid choice for a budget mp3 player
Build quality is pretty rock solid, with its metal casing and size, it feels good in the hand and the pocket. Battery life gives me about 12 hours of playback, which is acceptable (4.4mm headphones are going to draw a bit more power). Interface is well, just there; functional but nothing to write home about, but I will say if you have a large library you'll definitely want to make sure it's organized in folders. It's still a slog when refreshing your music folders, but about 2x as fast as the Echo Mini. Sound quality is squarely in the "good for the price" range. Buttons are nice, and it's great to be able to navigate audio without having to look at the screen. USB DAC mode works, more of a convenience to play your phone's audio on wired headphones than a boost to quality over a decent pair of Bluetooth headphones. Bluetooth audio on the device is finicky, i found I had to repair to my earbuds a lot, but honestly, most people aren't going to be using Bluetooth audio with this. All in all, a pretty solid budget mp3 player.

Great hardware marred by mid software
Same as the mini, this thing is great hardware through and through, but if you're looking for a seamless bluetooth experience with playlists and great UI, you need to look elsewhere. If you are just going to be wired and dont care about playlists, this is a great buy.

Completely honest Review no BS
Brutally honest answer, so listen up YUH HURRRR!!! And I’m SENDING GOOD PHOTOS SO YALL CAN CONSIDER GETTING THE MINI OR THIS ONE - I’ll be brutally honest about the Fiio Echo product, so keep your eyes tight and bright * Screen? It’s beautifully great, it’s bright and it literally acts like a flashlight at the lowest screen bright level (1) * Quality? Its good, nothing to expect much out of an alloy quality *music formats? ITS SO PICKY, LIKE SOMETIMES I GRAB MP3 AUDIOS, SOME OF THEM RENDERED AND OTHER SAID “File not format supported”, WUH TUH FUH?? *Its so frustrating using the playback feature *File transfer? EASY, EASY AS PIEEE (don’t eat em if ur allergic) *Size? Pretttyyyy big compared to the mini *screen size? Beautiful. *bluetooth? ITS SO GOOFY CONNECTING TO MY SKULLCANDY CRUSHER EVO 💔💔 *sound quality on wired devices? beautiful. Every single bit. I even heard the production team talking while listening to dying fetus

Great MP3 player
Works great, user interface is a learning curve, but not bad. Sounds great with my iems. Smaller than I was expecting, but I was pleasesantly surprised.

Died after 2 days.
Died after two days. Won't charge, won't turn on, won't react when connected to a pc or a charger, nothing, dead. Had a Fiio X1 years ago which lasted me a couple of years, but also died inexplicably one day. So yeah, don't buy this thing, spend a bit more and get a HiBy R3. And if you ever get a fiio product, only charge it with a pc using the supplied cable, never with a charger, never a different cable, I believe maybe it's chargers that kill them. 70 bucks down the toilet.

Impressive, very nice.
Rock solid little player, super compact, light and durable with the aluminum design. Plenty volume when paired with IEMs or stereo headphones. Bluetooth is ok, works fine with airpods fine but I prefer wired IEM's for full quality. FiiO breaks the entire model down in their website which is very helpful when understanding what this DAP can run. Once you figure out the quirks and understand the limits of this player. Runs all your music perfectly. Pair it up with a reliable SD (Make sure you make copies of your music esp after converting them to the right block size so this player can run it just in case your SD breaks), a quality IEM or stero heaphones and you can enjoy music again. Retro vibes here are great. I run this player all day from morning to night, with a little power left at the end of the day. Fast charging, easy to get back to full to begin the next day again.

It is a lovely little thing.
I must say, for the price, the quality is very good. I compared the spec with others and from a processor perspective, this beats anything sub £150. I record in FLAC so the play back is true and as expected. MP3's are also good. It is well built too. I think it is a mix of high impact plastic and alloy. After two months spent in various locations (including my jeans pocket numerous times) it still looks brand new. The downside is the user interface. It is not touch screen and the buttons are situated on the top and not illuminated. However, with familiarisation and practice, you can skip around the menus without too much bother. Give yourself a couple of weeks to get used to it. It is worth it as the quality of playback will reward your persistence. It has quirks, in particular with BlueTooth connections, but I connect mine with wired headphones to achieve the best output quality. That is why I bought it. Make sure that you do a firmware upgrade when you first get it to maximise the Echo's capabilities. It is a lovely little thing.

Good sound from a solid music player
Well built, solid music player. Controls easy to use after a little practice. Display is clear and easy to read. Sound is very good and there are a few options for changing the settings to suit your listening preferences. The main settings of the unit can also be changed if required. The firmware can be updated, instructions etc are on the Fiio website. It took many attempts to update the firmware before I managed to do it. It was easy to transfer flac files onto the memory card that I had inserted into the unit. There is limited internal memory on the player, (just over 3gb ). A nice little player that plays music well, the physical controls are a nice change from the usual touchscreen controls on other models.
